I have a PhD in mathematics and I also love literature.
As far back as high school, I appreciated how my English classes and my math/science classes gave me a sense of balance, and how they each stimulated my mind in different ways.
In college, as a math major, i was very active in theater as an actor.
At this point in my life, I actually feel a little more passionate about literature than Mathematics, which is a reversal of what I felt when I was younger. But I will always love them both.

As an engineer, I like math, but I don't care for really advanced calculus.

@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP I understand that. I had to take a lot more than I would ever use.

@exexec ... like complex variables! What the heck is that? I took it twice and I still can't answer that!

@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP I was glad to get my diploma and get away from it.

English literature gave us many things many appreciate..
Maths is the man down in the mine... Not often thought of but makes it all possible

I've always worked better with numbers.

Math, because it is logical.

I was terrible at math, practically innumerate, so English was the way to go for me.
I regret not putting in more effort at the time. Unfortunately, by the time I realized what I was missing, it was too late.

English to better express myself. Math doesn’t really help me in my everyday life, aside from algebra once in a long while.

English is better, I think

As an engineer, i rely on math more in my day to day, but english was always more enjoyable.
