Take his re-education into your own hands with plenty of conversation and educational type visits around the town. Provide many quality movies and play instruction board games. Do reflections after every school day, converse over dinner, travel as much as you can.
As a person from a family that prizes education, I couldn't believe I've had this experience to some extent with four children due to mothers with stupid ideas.

Talk to the school he will be attending. They may have special classes he can take to catch him up.

@DearAmbellina2113 Thank you , 😊

If you afford a tutor that's my recommendation. Other than that like others have mentioned, check what the school can offer in terms of extra help. I was long behind as a kid. I had a seperate class and teacher from my original class for us who needed more help with the base subjects. I had this extra help til I was 15.

Definitely talk to the school, yet if you can afford a private tutor, that as well will help.

You might also look into mentors, which a different thing. Your kids social skills are as well likely lacking for being away from school.

Schools really are not good at teaching social skills for kids so far behind. Yet once that happens a more permanent type of person is needed every day just for social skills.

look into outside of school programs like the learning academies and the like. I was left behind by school in Reading, and my mother took me to the first one of the kind and i went from being very behind in reading to reading at a college level, and i got into trouble for doing Jules Vernes The lost world as a school book report because of it.
Just because he hasn't attended school for three years, it doesn't automatically place him "three years behind".

He's been learning something over the last three years of his life because children are always learning.

Talk to his teachers and have him tested for which grade he's at before you start worrying too much about getting him caught up with his peers.

He might not need too much work unless he's struggled with the core subjects prior to being withdrawn from school, but you will have to work together with the school to help him to catch up on any shortcomings in any case.

Push him only to the extent he is capable of covering. Don't expect wonders. Talk to school, otherwise personally to the teacher(s) there.

Best Wishes

I wouldn't worry to much. Put him back in school this fall and they should test him to see where he is at then go from there
What country did he take your son to where it’s legal not to send a ten year old to school?
HannahSky · F
The school should be able to help with placement and testing for where to start.
Get him to a tutor who can help him studying. Where are you from?
Expressman · 61-69
He'll have to stay back, maybe get severe remedial schooling.
You might be able to home school him.

I am going to venture to guess that your stories are fictional.

Who "splits" the kids as if they are property? You didn't speak to your son for 3 years and he never told you he was not going to school?

Your other story claims that you met a man online and need advice on whether or not it is creepy if this man wants you to call him daddy and wants to adopt your kid and have them call him daddy too?

I'll take things that never happened for $500, Alex.

@JaggedLittlePill You are being judgmental???

I have so many responses and all are genuine, apart from yours!
What would i gain from lying?
I am asking for suggestions on how to help my child! That's the parenting arrangement that we came up with, I could not afford to keep both children at that point.

I am guessing your using my post to be negative, and Yes, that happened to the man i met online , not that i have to explain myself to. And it was a shock for me because he seemed like a good person at first. Keep your judgments to yourself!

Put him in on of those English and maths classes for young people they should help him catch if you can like Kumo if you have that there
