How can i help a child who is extremely behind in school?

After the separation we decided to split the kids,
So my ex husband got custody of one child,
He went back to his country and i just found out the child did not attend school for the last 3 years! 😤
After much struggled he will bring my child home next week but I feel so bad because my son is 13
How can he attend school, I'm so worried he is 3 years behind. Im upset with my ex husband but right now my concern is my child and helping him feel confident but three years behind, i had some sleepless nights over this. How can i help, any teachers out there

Definitely talk to the school, yet if you can afford a private tutor, that as well will help.

You might also look into mentors, which a different thing. Your kids social skills are as well likely lacking for being away from school.

Schools really are not good at teaching social skills for kids so far behind. Yet once that happens a more permanent type of person is needed every day just for social skills.
