Do you ever go to church?

I do,

because I can dress up 🙄😉😁

seriously, I'm more spiritual rather than religious
we need to reflect and speak solemnly with Him
when our soul is in harmony with the place

I used to. I studied the Bible and stopped going.

4meAndyou · F
I am going on Christmas day...possibly bringing a friend...if she doesn't change her mind. Supposed to be an awesome music program.
bhatjc · 46-50, M
@4meAndyou Sounds lovely
OverTheHill · 61-69, M
Sure do. God is good!
zonavar68 · 56-60, M
@OverTheHill God is a false man-made concept
th3r0n · 41-45, M
It depends which church

If I feel the spirit strongly there and the people love God, I am glad to be there

If it has a dark feeling to it or an empty feeling I don't like it
1Dogma · F
@th3r0n that's a thought to ponder...

for me it's like a habit because I grew up with a religious mother
th3r0n · 41-45, M
@1Dogma when I hadn't experienced the spirit of God, felt the fire of the Holy Spirit of the Living God, I was bored at church and believed it was true but found hearing about it boring but after feeling that power it's not the same

I went to a Christian work camp one summer, we helped fix up low income homes during the day and had fellowship and food and singing and praise to the Lord at night, and when we sang there I felt a fire move among those who were singing, and I was told that the spirit of God could be in me, and I was baptized, and years later in faith by his spirit have even cast out demons, though I myself may be the least of his own I can testify that Jesus has dominion over all heaven and earth, and that even unclean spirits have to leave in his name
1Dogma · F
@th3r0n I never experienced such thing but I believe in miracles
SW-User
No, I hate it but I sometimes go to make my grandparents happy
1Dogma · F
@SW-User that's funny...
I grew up with a religious mom
so it became a habit
SW-User
@1Dogma I’m not religious at all, I’m atheist
TheWildEcho · 61-69, M

GerOttman · 61-69, M

SW-User

thepeculiarpanda · 36-40, M
Nope. Religion really messed my childhood up. I keep it as far away from me as possible.
1Dogma · F
@thepeculiarpanda I'm really sorry to hear that
thepeculiarpanda · 36-40, M
@1Dogma It's all good. :) Just an odd way to grow up.

My parents became hyper religious when I was really young and mom was abusive with it. They ended up taking us to missionary college and then moving all over the place while dad pastored churches just to end up five miles from where we had started.
1Dogma · F
@thepeculiarpanda Oh, I never had that strict discipline. I was lucky! 🤗
I NEVER go to church. I'm Jewish!! 😄
I do attend services in the Synagogue. ✡️
OverTheHill · 61-69, M

bhatjc · 46-50, M
Some times.
zonavar68 · 56-60, M
In the past I did for a while in my teens and early 20's but I saw through the hypocrisy of christian religion and abandoned religion and church. So glad I was able to escape from the cult and see the light.
meggie · F
No i cant be arsed with it
bhatjc · 46-50, M
@meggie Damn hot
caesar7 · 61-69, M
I did at one point. Not for worship but a place to reflect and meditate. I listened to the service and everything but I like the peacefulness and solace of the place. I might reconsider going back again for the same reasons.
1Dogma · F
@caesar7 true, the peaceful and solemn surrounding could help us reflect and meditate
caesar7 · 61-69, M
@1Dogma It did! After the service, I always felt good and happy. It does something to the very soul. All the stresses and the evils of the world are forgotten at that moment. That is why I might be returning. The world and global issues really bring you down.
1Dogma · F
@caesar7 our soul is cleansed, and we're connected to the Omnipotent!

That's kinda awesome.
