I don't know why people are so down on Christianity and blame everything on it. There's no forcing or controlling people in the Christian church, period! People come and are welcome and I have yet in all my life of going to church, and I'm going to be 78 years old, to see one person that was not welcome in the church, no matter who they were. Everyone is welcome and we are always so happy to see them and they come dressed as they are and we don't care. God looks at the heart not the clothes. Some have even come in shorts! Jesus invites everyone to church because that's the way we learn and grow in Him. But you need to do your homework and not just go to any church, because then you may be disappointed. The church was set up to welcome people and I doubt there's many that would turn any away. And if someone doesn't like our church, then they are free to go in peace and not criticized. They leave knowing that no matter what their decision, they are still loved and are always welcome to come back if they choose. And no one is ever a slave to Christ. We worship him because we love him so much for what he did for us on the cross in saving us from hell. We follow him out of great love for Him, not out of force, as some would mistakenly say.

Lots of rituals. Women are referred as property, unclean, and must be submissive to their husbands. Personally, I reject anything that has magical beliefs.

@BlueSkyKing I totally agree, Christians are to avoid magic! Have not got to the bit where women are property though or unclean though.. I’ve only got as far as Jesus had friends called Mary and Martha, and could be approached by the woman at the well, and the woman who touched his robe.

@SW-User Checkout the book GOD THE MOST UNPLEASANT CHARACTER IN ALL FICTION by Dan Barker. It goes into great detail.

Take a lighter and petrol with you. There’s more than one thing to do in a church…

well u can look forward to boring sermons, monotone hymns, guilt tripping, love bombing, judgmental peer pressure and being repeatedly asked to donate. and that's just the "Normal ones"
for the love of feck AVOID Jehovah's witnesses. they're loony by other Christian's standards

@bugeye Been there, got the tee shirt😊 But you may find people who pray.
TheWildEcho · 56-60, M
@bugeye well I go every week and have never experienced what you describe. The sermons are inspirational by a pastor who genuinely cares, have many styles of music and no one put under any pressure to donate!!

Let your heart guide you. If it moves your soul it doesn't have to be forced. While I refuse to believe we're all part of some gigantic accident I know if it's meant for a person it will call to them.

Christianity will never respect women. We are breeding cattle in their view and nothing else. They will gaslight you otherwise. No thanks
@SuperB1tch You're not female tho lol.

Religions are basically cults - some are easier to walk away from if you ever feel disenfranchises than others.

Become a Baha’i , the Baha’i faith believes in equality in men and women and for women to get an education and work equal to men

You'd have to look pretty hard to find a Christian sect of any sort that would make slaves of women
