Going on 25 years this June!!!! We have sepret bedrooms unfortunately...We started out together, then we had our baby girl with us until she was 7, and our baby boy so my husband got half the bed the kiddo's got a quarter of the bed, and I got the bottom quarter of the bed for 7 YEARS!!!! Then I took one of the bedrooms, my daughter took another bedroom and when one of the twins moved out our youngest son took his bedroom!!! My husband snores like a chain saw cutting a log... Apparently I too snore really bad now that I am fatter... I love my bedroom, it's cozy, and ambient..And peaceful!
Ha, ha!
All the things that affect it.
Babies bawling in the night.
Children coming in crying over nightmares.
Post-pregnacy, she may have a leaky bladder.
Pets.
Calls from work for emergency helpers.
One snores, the other kicks and thrashes about.
One sweats and needs cool, the other shivers & needs warmth.
Tug-o-war with blankets, sheets, doonas.
One likes a hard matress, the other likes soft.
Post 50, he may have a prostate that gets him up to pee several times a night.
Post 50, she gets hot and cold sweats, and feels itchy in places she can't reach.
Insomnia & the tactics to deal with it.
Too much tea or coffee during the day.
Failing to mend a quarrel before going to bed...

I tend to flail around when sleeping, so I prefer to hit softer objects. Yeah that setup won't work for me. 😏
