Turn to the things you love to do or find new things you've wanted to do that help you focus on those things and little by little, you'll find yourself thinking less and less of them. But it's different for each of us on what works or how long it takes, but it's helped me every time.

Become truly busy

keep distracting yourself until it's the new habit 😌
TurtlePink · 22-25, F
You can’t 😔
DerSilberneKonig1 · 22-25, M
Distractions for the short term, Long term it'll happen naturally, you'll think about them a lot, and little by little you'll stop. You won't ever forget them, atleast not entirely, but it'll happen.

If you have any items, like pictures, or gifts, even if its something as simple as a note or an email, put them somewhere hard to reach and out of sight, or get rid of them to lessen the amount of reminders.

Finding a new, hopefully long term hobby, or a different person.

i'd also like to know. as far as i'm aware though the best thing you can do is really focus in on a hobby or work. a lot of people try to move on by finding someone new. in my personal opinion i don't think a person could do anything worse than that in that given situation. (assuming this is a previous love interest of course.)

Distract, distract, distract. Dive into hobbies and relationships that give you doses of dopamine. Distance/time also helps tremendously. And if it’s a romantic someone you’re trying to fade from view, leaving yourself up to finding someone else that gives you butterflies will really make them fade quickly.

I’m doing the same, I read, watch movies, talk to friends, make plans with friends, go to the movies, watch a lot of YouTube videos (how to get over someone you still care about, attachment styles and how to heal them…etc)
It’s not easy 🤗
lipstickguy · 61-69, M
you can think about me
Bignakedguy · 31-35, M
Keep yourself occupied. Do anything to escape from thinking about this someone. Reading, walking, watching something funny.
ArtieKat · M
Find a Time Machine and fast forward a year or two..... 🤗

I've never found an easy solution except time to heal.

Idk, I gave up trying, it's exhausting. Distractions, keeping busy and another person are only surface band-aids. I think we learn to live with it.
Staying busy and focusing on other stuff until you get a new person on your mind

Find someone else you can rebound with.
Ashly · 26-30, F
Damn… I don’t know
I think about my exes at random moments and I even think about my high school crush 🫣

But then I forget about them and move on
It’s basically a repeating cycle 😅
