I've always seen it like this: it's great for them to have someone they can f*** on the side, while they have the spouse doing everything at home. Plus they don't lose anything: money in the bank account, house, etc... A divorce would cost them a lot.

Basically they want to have it all. Loyalty and honesty mean very little to them.

I must add this applies to both men AND women.

from what I've read, men cheat to supplement for something they are missing at home. women cheat because they're done, had enough and just don't see a way out of the relationship.

I think it feeds a fantasy (not unique to males, BTW) of being able to have the fun part of a relationship without all the messiness and hard work of the real thing.

A woman will always tell you she is pregnant whether she is or isn't. Over a dozen have tried that on me. Nobody has managed to get me off yet and they didnt cheat. How did they get knocked up, immaculate conception? And they always get the abortion BEFORE they tell you they were pregnant.

Likely it’s a selfish desire for different sex, different vagina, looser or tighter or just different, different breast size and or shape, big or small vagina lips, different blow job, I’m admitting it’s irresponsible and selfish but it happens.

It's amazing here how many users listed physical need or desire in their posts. Infidelity is rarely about either. It can be as simple as an easy opportunity and emotional immaturity, but usually it's wrapped up a lot more. It's much more about the head and heart than any body parts.

Hard to say. I honestly believe that different people carry different genetic predispositions for preference of one partner or many. The cheaters, of both genders, may carry the many partner genes.

There could be a host of other reasons as well. From not feeling desired at home, to finding a thrill in engaging in bad behavior.
