Well....His looks...definitely caught my attention and took my breath away. And that let him stay near me long enough to fall for him. If he had been unfortunate looking, I'm afraid I would have passed him by.
Looks aren't everything, and like you said...looks change. Of course you have to go with what attracts you (and that may not always be what would attract other people as there is no real standard though society tries to establish one). And don't be too quick to dismiss someone who is "just okay", as I have learned that as the heart grows fonder the looks get better. I have always been one who just knows what he likes when he sees it, and others have always wondered "why?" (they went for the "beauty queens" where I was always attracted to the average "girl next door" type). I always found the "plain", cute but imperfect to be more attractive than the made up and "fake". Who she was/is as a person was much more important to me. I heard it said once that the greatest gifts don't always come in the prettiest of packages.
Looks aren't everything. My lazy sister-in-law had a beautiful complexion when she married my brother. They just celebrated their 24th year of marriage two weeks ago, and she has developed blemishes like a teenager - at the age of fifty to boot!
Yeah, you're probably right. But I DO know she's going through "the change" and she IS on medication for her heart and thyroid. Could be a combination of all these things.
