If women rule then why on average do they get paid less than men?

SW-User
Because that takes into account pregnancy and the types of jobs women on average do.

We don't get paid less for the same job.

@33person exactly... thanks so much!
SW-User
@33person There is a lot to factor into that. What contributes to these few cents. Taking more holidays and pregnancy can affect it.
33person · 26-30, M
@SW-User Maybe that's all that it is; maybe not. But it's worth considering there may be more factors, some of them not justified.
If women get paid less why don’t employers just hire women?
And save 25%? Or what ever they say the difference is?🤔

Wikipedia is not a source of truth. Anyone with an account can edit anything the way they want. Even you can. Don't believe in everything you read on the internet.

Oh this is one of those them vs us posts is it? Ok so firstly no one said women rule.. and secondly the criterion money is not a valid determining factor. Men and women have different but complimentary traits. When used to support each other the end result is greater than the sum of the parts.
PS women tend to be paid less than men because of unfair practices and because women still suffer disadvantage and discrimination within the work arena.
Adaydreambeliever · 56-60, F
@memyselfandyou uh huh I see. I missed that question. I do think though that in some things women generally rule and in others men do

@memyselfandyou There are enough around that I don't need to elaborate.. mostly just generalisations, men tend to be stronger physically, they tend to be able to compartmentalise and concentrate on one thing at a time. Women tend to be better at generalising, they tend to be more nurturing. These are all generalisations.. not all men, not all women follow those patterns. I don't have an agenda here.. I think men and women are great and both are necessary and important
We don’t. That’s not true.

@memyselfandyou again with the links I can’t open.

You think it’s true all you like, honey. No skin off my nose. Lol!

this has not been true for a few decades now. there are other factors in the workforce that are sexist and unfair, but this is not one of them.

To a large extent because the statistics are based on income, NOT on type of work, and don't take into consideration that a woman is more likely to take time off for child-raising and other family concerns than men and so don't accrue seniority and raises at the same rate as men do. Women also tend to jobs that are shorter hours for the same family reasons.

In my my previous company, the company hired 2 girls and 3 guys as junior software engineer from the same batch. One girl from those 5 got the highest increment, because she was doing really good as a programmer. But on the other hand the other girl got the least increment because she just was not sincere in her job.
