Because that takes into account pregnancy and the types of jobs women on average do.
We don't get paid less for the same job.

@SW-User How about raw data: https://www.census.gov/data/tables/time-series/demo/income-poverty/historical-income-people.html
SW-User
@memyselfandyou Hahahahahahahaha Really? It shows no info on pregnancy (which cut pay),days off(women take more) and types of jobs.
This is horrible. Just numbers with no information.

@memyselfandyou Show me where I'm wrong. You have yet to discredit what I said.

@SW-User In SOME cases women get paid less foe equal work, but not in areas like government, teaching, etc. A decent union takes care of that.
SW-User
@ChipmunkErnie Hi. How are you?
Some but if caught, they can fight per equal pay act of 1963. Women shouldn't tolerate it.
Most is due to what I posted above. Women tend to hold lower paying jobs and do more unpaid work than men. These things are causes that affect overall pay.

@SW-User My understanding: Women make, on average, 93 cents on the dollar to what a man makes for the same work. It is true that women make 78 cents on the dollar to what a man makes, but not for the same work. There still is a pay gap for the same work, though. It's just smaller than the number we keep hearing.

@33person exactly... thanks so much!
SW-User
@33person There is a lot to factor into that. What contributes to these few cents. Taking more holidays and pregnancy can affect it.

@SW-User Maybe that's all that it is; maybe not. But it's worth considering there may be more factors, some of them not justified.
