Is this a date?

This guy I work with just suggested I meet him in the city for drinks tonight - he ll be with some friends too. Is it a date? I haven't met his friends before, but he has met mine. We hang out a bit outside of work, sometimes just the two of us, and while there's occasionally an 'atmosphere' between us, he's dated a couple of other girls in two years I've known him. He doesn't hang out with anyone else from work, outside of work.

Is he gay? No?

It’s a date.

I wouldn't say that's a date but maybe you could drop some hints that you kind of like him and get one

I'd say no. Also he's dated other people while you've known him so he's capable of actually asking women out. I wouldn't get my hopes up. I think he likes you as a friend or he would ask you on an actual date.
I wouldn’t say so, no. You’re friends & I’d wager that’s the height of it. That’s not to say he doesn’t find you attractive (refer to said “atmosphere”) but he also hasn’t done anything about it in two whole years!!! I mean, come on!! Either he doesn’t want your relationship to be anything more (he has dated other people so we know he is capable of asking girls out), or he has the backbone of a jellyfish.

I’d say ask him. But two years is already too long a time to hang around waiting on someone who isn’t waiting on you.

I would say no...but in his mind it's a stepping stone to asking

Go with it. You'll probably have fun, either way.

Bless your heart ! To make the right desicion
No, it's not a date. It's casual/friendly, but he might want to get drunk and end up meeting you in the bedroom. I'm not accusing him, but it might've crossed his mind. What about you?
@theentertainer Sounds fun. Do you think you'll go?
theentertainer · 31-35, F
@lovelywarpedlemon I nearly said no! I don't particularly like venturing into the city at night by myself, even if I'm meeting people there. But I said yes, so hopefully it'll turn out ok!
@theentertainer Cool :) A learning experience and chance to get out, at worst, a fantastical fun evening of romance, at best!!

Are you blonde, does he have a middle eastern or eastern European accent?
theentertainer · 31-35, F
@SW-User What does that have to do with anything?

If he brings rubbers it's a date
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
Be careful. Mixing work and extracurricular activities can backfire. Have fun

@uncalled4 Thanks for the warning - don't worry though, I've considered it. I'm permanent, he's on contract! But really, we don't have to work that closely on a daily basis and our work doesn't have a no-dating policy, so I think it's all ok.
