I wouldn't change it. My engineering degree served me well and allowed me to do some interesting things while earning good salaries.

I would change my career for sure and been a speech language pathologist or a reg’d dietician
lost213 · 46-50, M
I would have still taken the same route. The only difference is I would have started college sooner
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
I would go to horticultural school and try to get my own acreage and open up a greenhouse or two to sell plants, maybe more. I had a 3rd cousin who lived in Albuquerque and he did that and ended up with 7 landscape & greenhouse businesses. He got quite wealthy from it.

Wish I had a strong will mind I would of got into Law Enforcement.

Same degree but would have dated different women

I'd join the navy all over again but this time I'd do it on the day I turned 16. In the short time I was in the Royal Canadian Navy (the "sea element" in the unified forces days of 1970) I missed the Med Cruise and a trip to Japan like some of the guys ahead of me.
Sapio · 51-55, M
I would have pursued a degree instead of the path I took.
Gibbon · 70-79, M
I wouldn't change a thing that far back. I'd stop myself from marrying my second wife.
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
I wouldn't change anything. I've loved my career. I would have liked to set up my own business instead maybe.

@PatientlyWaiting25 oh that's great stuff 💛

I’d do College again but I’d really think about what I wanted to do with my life first. I basically wasn’t ready to be done with High School when I went to College.
WoWgirll · 36-40, F
@4thdimensiondream I understand, I definitely wouldn't have taken fun electives in college.
WoWgirll · 36-40, F
@4thdimensiondream why didn't you wait to go to college?
4thdimensiondream · 70-79, M
@WoWgirll just seemed like that’s what all my friends did and my Dad was still around then. He would not have been okay with me not going. One other big reason was if I didn’t go to College I’d have been drafted for sure for the Vietnam war.

I just bought my own place at a young age without financial help from anyone. I don’t think I’d have this financial security without my current job (I work in accounts)

I’d go to Halloween 2019
And just live life from that point on knowing what I know today

Nope. A family crisis kept me from the career I thought I wanted and worked hard to achieve, and when I could not leave my mom who was so ill, the fall back plan turned out to be the best option for me.

No, I'm good

It would have been a technical-college, not university - I was never bright enough to gain even the entry qualifications for Degree courses.
(The requirements were and I think still are, three General Certificate of Education 'Advanced-Level' examination passes in subjects relevant to your intended Degree course).
I'd hoped to have become a scientist or engineer although never really sure in which field of either; but these are highly mathematical careers and maths was never my best subject!
Still, I sort of meandered through life at shop- or lab- floor level in employment related to both science and engineering, some very routine, some very interesting, and came out of it all reasonably well.
Retired now for nearly a decade, it could have been better but I can't complain!

Things have turned out so well for me that it's hard to wish anything were different but since I'm currently back in on school to finish my undergraduate degree for further career advancement there is a huge feeling of regret that I didn't do it when my life was easy.

Go to college and get a job with the government.
hunkalove · 70-79, M
The only reason I went to college was to avoid the draft. If I did it again I'd get a degree in something other than English Lit.
