Any men here who actually fix dinner for their women ?

Tell me why you like to do it

I had quite a few dinners fixed for me in the past couple years due to having cancer and surgeries and I sure appreciated it. I can’t have gluten so there aren’t many types of food to get from restaurants that would be good for me. If for no other reason it’s good for men to learn to cook at least simple meals because even if they have a wife that loves to cook you never know when she’ll get sick and won’t be able to cook a meal and buying meals out from restaurants all the time gets expensive.

Yes actually I do when I have one. There was a time where I fixed a wonderful plate of fresh orange roughy and steamed vegetables with wild rice for a beautiful young lady who flew all the way from California and she was at SW user at the time. That little meal led to a wonderful on again off again 8-year relationship. We are still fairly close to this day. I also had a girlfriend who went with me on a sailboat to Catalina where I went spearfishing shot some fresh yellowtail and prepared them for her with a nice bottle of white wine on the boat and barbecue. I love to cook anyway so why not use that as a love language and romance your lady a little bit. That's what a real man does a real man knows how to make love to her mind her body and soul not just get the booty

I cook about 50% of the time in the house.

Firstly - seems only fair to share the work, especially as for years when I commuted for work I rarely ever cooked.

I also quite like cooking too - it's a good focus on the task at hand type activity which is good for grounding my thoughts etc.

Yes when I was in a relationship with my second partner (2013 to 2018) I tried to make dinner often for her whenever possible, but she would always find something to complain about regardless and would try to dictate how dinner had to me made. It was never a very mutual two-way street. One reason to stay single - you don't have to live up to anyone else's insane standards and expectations.
Softy1 · M
@zonavar68 sounds familiar!
Yes.

I enjoy making a good meal for family, and I enjoy cooking.

I like to cook things I have seen or find, etc.

And I like to cook both simple things and more involved things.

It gives others something to directly (physically) sustain them, as well as indirectly (emotionally/spiritually) sustain them‐‐from something I just made...for them and for me.
Yes, I do it all the time, or we do it together. It is always nice to see someone appreciate what you do for them, and food being an essential to life all the better when it is enjoyed.

I love cooking.
Been cooking from an young age.

There is joy in cooking with love and feeding people.

Food brings joy....irrespective of who you are.
I think a man who loves cooking or is a chef is more likely to do the majority of the cooking. I go to a lot of houses where the man bakes cakes and tries new recipes. Young couples tend to air fry or makes a curry or stir fry and so do singletons.

I did all the time. I enjoy cooking, but cooking for her was a great treat for me. And give her a break too.

@Softy1 do you think there’s any hope of you reconciling as a couple? Or just leave it to what is working now?
Softy1 · M
@cherokeepatti we will never get back together again. Only will stay friends. Even though we are divorced we still have the same last names so when we go somewhere we use that and either say we are brother and sister or we say that we are married if either will benefit us! lol

Our kids are young adults and we do still take family vacations!
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Softy1 well it’s always good to have a friend
IamBack · 31-35, M
I’m single, I cook for myself coz I have to and it’s a survival/basic skill

I don’t think I’d cook for my woman, I’d either take her out for dinner or she’d be doing the cooking 🤷🏻‍♂
TigerLili · 46-50, FVIP
@IamBack why do you feel you wouldn’t cook for her?
IamBack · 31-35, M
@TigerLili coz it means a lot for the man when his woman cooks for him, that’s all
I often did that for her out of my enduring 💗 for her! RIP DebbyAnn 🧸😚
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
I do all the cooking in my house. Feeding people makes me happy and I enjoy cooking.
Musicman · 61-69, MVIP
I do it daily. Sadly my wife is handicapped and her health has suffered over the past two years. The marriage vows said for better or worse. In sickness and in health. On a personal note, I really don't like cooking. ☹
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Musicman You plug it in and turn it on, low, high and warm are the basic settings. I spray the Crock pot with pan spray so nothing sticks. Can stick meat in it, season the meat however you like, add a bit of water and turn it on high, then turn it on low till it almost gets done and add the veggies.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Musicman Main thing is to double-check to make sure it’s plugged in or you could ruin some meat, especially if you go out during the day. I have to be careful sometimes it’s easy to get loose.
Musicman · 61-69, MVIP
@cherokeepatti When I get a minute I'll send you a picture of it. We got it at a community Christmas party years ago. You'll have to tell me if it's any good.
Torsten · 36-40, M
I cant remember anytime a female partner has cooked for me. Im the one always doing the cooking.
NewWorldToronto · 51-55, M
Oh simple...it feels nice to do something nice for her. I like to see her happy.
Cooking is fun and I like to eat really good food.
3Dogmatic · 46-50, M
I do it regularly. I like cooking, and when my girls were little, they liked my cooking more than hers…
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
We generally work together to make dinner. I will sometimes do it by myself, depending on what it is.
TigerLili · 46-50, FVIP
@DunningKruger what’s your fav thing to make
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
@TigerLili Hard to say, as I don' t like cooking at all. We'll sometimes make shredded cabbage fried with sliced kielbasa, cashews, dried cranberries and sunflower kernals that's really tasty. It's easy to make and fast, so I'm good with making it.
When I was married I was the principal cook because I could, she couldn't and I enjoyed doing it.
Billyt · 61-69, M
I love cooking and enjoy doing it for my wife. I also must admit it does make me feel a little submissive…. Even though she doesn’t know
ineedadrink · 51-55, M
Most of the time. I'm far better at most things though her meatloaf is a lot better than mine.
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
