When I was really young I did. Think a lot of guys do that as part of their learning curve in the dating world. How long it take a young fella to divorce that need to put looks over everything else is a sign of maturity for guys in the dating world--a learning curve.
I certainly know guys that will do that for status in my current life. They won't put that in print but it is a status symbol to them like an expensive car
It is possible sometimes from the hot woman's perspective that she may be in part, socially conditioned to be self centered over time by being pursued by a lot of guys. It might be hard for her to not be self centered when is naturally often the center of attention.
Pursue and catch have an interestin relationship overall. A guy can initiate pursuit with a woman at a low time/ money investment. However, how long and how much effort he puts into it and why is interesting question in itself and maybe outside the scope of your question.
