Is setting your boundaries for your partner insecure, controlling, or for protection?

And if you choose, why is that?

It's to cover your own ass. If you have no boundaries, you get taken advantage of and screwed over by people. You get walked all over like you're stairs or something. It's important to have boundaries.

@IWasCallingYaLarry That's good. I'm sure you'll do right by her as she's done good for you. A mutual feeling. 馃憤

@xSiFiGamer2016x I definitely will do my best. I like her quite a bit and she thinks I'm cute, and I find her cute. She has an adorable voice, too and we both like video games and anime, we like the same music, etc.

@IWasCallingYaLarry Funny. I wouldn't mind a woman who's like that. Y'all definitely gonna be great together. 馃憤

Depends on what they are and their purpose.

Depends on the boundaries. If you鈥檙e communicating your likes and dislikes to build a good relationship and respectful of your partners needs too, it鈥檚 all good. If your setting boundaries to change the other person or trying to bend someone to your will, it won鈥檛 work and will do more harm than good.

It's a good way to make her understand that you're in charge.

it can be, i think its really a case by case thing. setting bouderies is important to some degree but can totally be fuelled by insecurity and a desire to control. imagine spending a day with someone that needs to take all the decisions because each context awakens some kind of insecurity so everything needs to always be their way.

The only boundaries I set have been for my wife's safety and the preservation of our relationship.
I would say that creating boundaries is necessary for a healthy relationship.
