What are you reading?

I have just finished reading The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and now about to start Where the Crawdads Sing
Starsandfire · 31-35, F
Meditations by Marcus Aurelius. Well, I'm going through it at random picking out my fave bits. I liked Where the Crawdads Sing, very good book. I hope you enjoy it!
The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle
@TheMacDaddyBoy Well, I heard the audio version, I liked it enough to get the hard copy. I do agree that some parts were strange, so that's why I bought it to see if I can get more of an understanding, but I really need to read the hard copy because I am more of a visual learner.
TheMacDaddyBoy · 41-45, M
@Thekeeper I have the book. I've read through parts of it. Some of what he says is similar to the teachings of Mindfulness. There's some useful stuff there about being in the present, but it's not something he invented.

@Thekeeper Great read
Pinkstarburst · 51-55, F
Sadly, I haven’t opened a book in ages.
Harmonium1923 · 51-55, M
@Pinkstarburst I’ve had a lot of trouble focusing on books recently as well, which as very unusual for me. I’m slowly coming around again, I think.
@Harmonium1923 i had that some time back,
TheFragile · 46-50, M

I loved where the crawdads sing. I've just finished The Dark Remains by William McIllvennie and Ian Rankin. I might start the seven husbsnds next.
@SW-User i wonder about books wtitten by 2 authors... it is a popular thing now
SW-User
@InOtterWords This one was finished by Ian Rankin after William McIllvennie died.It works ok.
@SW-User ah.. that makes sense
DarkSideoftheMoon · 31-35, F
I loved Where the Crawdads Sing. Cant wait to watch the film. Im currently reading The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware
@DarkSideoftheMoon there is a film?
DarkSideoftheMoon · 31-35, F
@InOtterWords omg yes Reese Witherspoon is having it made into a movie. I believe its out in cinemas now
TheMacDaddyBoy · 41-45, M
I've got hundreds of books stacks of them, and in bags, boxed. Not reading anything consistently at the moment as in sticking to one book. Spoiled for choice.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. The (original) TV series is one of my favourites ever, but haven't got much of a clue about what's going on, so I thought I'd enquire further 🤨
@TheMacDaddyBoy not seen the movie, butbthe book was jot slow as in a non starter but slowly gripping
Harmonium1923 · 51-55, M
@SunshineGirl I’m a big fan of LeCarre though some of his books can be hard to follow! He’s my favorite writer of spy fiction.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@Harmonium1923 It's an incredibly difficult subject he was writing about. The plots are complicated, but his writing style is attractive and compelling.

Just finished Redbreast by Jo Nesbo. Debating on my next one. Maybe The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles.
Poppies · 61-69, F
@Harmonium1923 well, you inspired me to look at the Lincoln Highway on Amazon. I've traveled US 30 in Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio and seen a few Lincoln Highway signs. I read a few pages of the book in the preview.
Harmonium1923 · 51-55, M
@Poppies I loved his other two books. He’s a great writer.
Straylight · 31-35, F
Mona Lisa Overdrive by William Gibson. It’s the second sequel to Neuromancer.
