Not really.
I know each of the three neighbours on my rural boundaries. I like 2 and dislike one.
I would help with anything they might need in an emergency, and the ones I like I do favours for anytime.
I know most of the neighbours beyond my boundaries to about 4 ks distant, but only chat when we happen to meet on the road on in the village.
All of us pull out all stops to help anyone during floods, fires or accidents, and that includes helping livestock and wildlife
-- that's just the norm in rural life around here.

But most of the time we keep to ourselves and all of us prefer it that way.

I have really great neighbors. Always there when needed yet separate enough not to be in our business. Of course, I great them when I see them outside.

I’m like you, although I live in an apartment and people come and go. I’ve befriended a few over the years, but I tend not to reach out first.

I like to keep it friendly but distant. I'll say hello first to a new neighbor but I don't ask or answer questions. I'll time checking mail, putting out trash, etc... to avoid running into anyone.

We inherited the house that we’re in, so we inherited the neighbors, too. Some of them were friends with my in-laws, and we’re friendly with them. Generally speaking, I mind my own business, though.

I keep to myself. I have a couple personable neighbours, but my next door neighbour is not easy to have conversations with.

i moved here exactly a year ago...i noticed they had 4 giant pot plants in their backyard....hope they put out more and then i'll be a really good neighbour

I talk to my neighbors all the time. I even mow one neighbor's lawn where it touches mine, but the rest of their lawn looks awful.

not really, i'm the mind my own business type, but if a neighbour says ' hello' i'll return the greeting.

Yeah I was at a garden party the other night with the neighbours.

I could probably tell you the names of our immediate neighbors, but I'd have to think about it.

I live by an old Scandinavian saying... "Don't have friends as neighbors nor neighbors as friends".
