@BrewCityBarfly Maybe I have only picked up bits and pieces and the film was just so...unexpectedly crap looking, I couldn't bring myself to watch it. (It may have been a good film it just looked shite).
@GeniUs TBH never saw the movie, read the books quite a while back.
Maturebate · 70-79, M
@BijouPleasurette correct, it comes from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

The average IQ of Scousers?
Jackie Robinson's number
@BijouPleasurette I don't check the author or their profile before I answer a post because I quite frankly don't care.
BijouPleasurette · 36-40, F
@CactusJackManson No, you just assume everybody else recognises someone just because you like them. Lol :)
@BijouPleasurette Jackie Robinson has historical significance as the first black player in the major leagues. I certainly never saw him play, as he played in the 1940s and 1950s. He died well before I was born, so I don't "like" or "dislike" him. My post did get two likes, so apparently I'm not the only one who recognizes his feat.
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy -
The Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, The Universe, and Everything

The number 42 is, in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, the "Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything", calculated by an enormous supercomputer named Deep Thought over a period of 7.5 million years. Unfortunately, no one knows what the question is. Thus, to calculate the Ultimate Question, a special computer the size of a small planet was built from organic components and named "Earth". The Ultimate Question "What do you get when you multiply six by nine"[28] was found by Arthur Dent and Ford Prefect in the second book of the series, The Restaurant at the End of the Universe. This appeared first in the radio play and later in the novelization of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. The fourth book in the series, the novel So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish, contains 42 chapters. According to the novel Mostly Harmless, 42 is the street address of Stavromula Beta. In 1994, Adams created the 42 Puzzle, a game based on the number 42.

The book 42: Douglas Adams' Amazingly Accurate Answer to Life, the Universe and Everything (2011)[29] examines Adams' choice of the number 42, and contains a compendium of some instances of the number in science, popular culture, and humour.

Google also has a calculator easter egg when one searches "the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything." Once typed (all in lowercase), the calculator answers with the number 42.[30]

In Hervé Le Tellier's novel The Anomaly, a top-secret US Government protocol receives code number 42, inspired by this source.[citation needed]
The character represented by ASCII code 42 is the *(asterisk).

I don’t know how you did it but that is exactly how many gum balls they had in the jar, we had to guess how many to win a million dollars. We could have won the jackpot, 😂 you should guess the numbers in the next lottery . No I didn’t mean that, not a guess just tell the numbers.

The hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy's nod to computer savvy viewers as the meaning of life the universe and everything is an insider's joke.

Like this-

American Standard Code for Information interchange ASCII it is the base 10 number of the binary, octal or hexadecimal, whichever one is in use in a particular system, the asterisk symbol (*) In the basic computer alpha-numeric keyboard and display symbol mapping.

The * is used within the matrix of computational syntax as a (everything) symbol.
