The wrong thing for the right reasons, I think. You see, people worry too much about whether something is right or wrong in the short run. What we need to look at is the overall butterfly effect of our actions.

I'll give you a very small example. About 5 years ago, my friend and coven mate and I were at the 7-Eleven, getting Big Gulps. I stood outside the store, unwrapped my straw, and dropped the paper wrapper on the ground.

There was a trash can right next to where I dropped it, but I chose to put it on the ground instead. My friend didn't understand. He got mad and lectured me about littering. So according to him, it would have been better if that piece of paper ended up in a landfill, rotting. But I had chosen to leave it where a bird or small animal could find it and use it for nesting material.

Either way I'd say to do the right thing or do nothing at all and take some more time and contemplate on the reasons or ask someone else for advice because we can't always be right. If we do the right thing for the wrong reasons, then perhaps we don't truly understand the value in it or the lesson we were meant to learn by having made such a choice 🤷🏾

I could be wrong though.

You can do whatever you believe is right but you also have to be ready for whatever the world gives you in return.

It really depends on the situation and the definition of good and bad.
