Paper map or GPS?

Okay old lady we’ll help you with your map and get those kids off your lawn.

My old job had a railroad track running next to it and on a bridge. They would stop on the street under the track when the gps said they were there. They would stop traffic and call. I had to go tell them to go forward 100 yards, turn right and right agsin to go down to me. Thats why i had to go down to the street to waive them in

I have one too because my phone is always low on charge.

When my wife and I go on a road trip, she always wants a paper map, but I have no problem with using the GPS in our car.

I had customers get so lost trying to find our business. They did not have a map. They were using gps. I had to go out on the street every time.

I have used both but I agree. I'd take a road atlas any day over GPS.

I changed my car a year or two ago and I've no idea what happened to my road atlases. If I'm going somewhere new I'll usually look at Google maps before leaving home; if it's a complicated route I'll set the GPS on my phone with voice alerts which override my music. I can't drive without music! :-)

I do like the GPS because it gives me an arrival time, but always like to look at the map when planning out the trip

I have converted to GPS / Google Maps.

My brother has one of those screens in his car, he has it hooked up to his phone, and he types a location and it immediately gives him the quickest route along with others, and can tell if there's even delays up ahead!! Get one of those Bex!!

I use gps even if I know how to get somewhere.

I very very rarely use GPS. I like to know where I'm going before I start driving. I'll use paper maps thank you.

So, I like both, but also have him as my gps, only after Ive followed the journey myself on my phone. I get distracted too easily with the gps

Gps i could never read a map

I have used both. I had a RIGHTWAY GPS, (now broken), and am still trying to figure out how to use Google maps. I LIKE the voice directions. I DON'T like having to pull over to the side of a busy road to check a map.

Paper, always.

Both and it depends on where I am and how familiar I am with the area. On interstates you don't really need GPS except it does warn you of construction, accidents, etc.

I always have my map book because you never know when GPS will steer you wrong or when you can't get a signal.

GPS is more practical for me when driving but I can use a paper map if the need arises.

I pretty much memorize the map and use GPS as backup. Music can carry me away also but my watch vibrates when I need to make turns.

When I worked I only used a map. These days I use a GPS. We do have a couple of road atlases though. One in the house and one in the motorhome. Sometimes when planning a trip I want to look at the route and state's we will go through to figure out what stops we want to make. Then the GPS takes us there.

I use Google maps as a digital map, but not its live directions. I still plan my own route like on a paper map, just digitally.

Bit of both .. the traffic back up warnings with the gps are helpful. The map /atlas is good when I don't have signal.

Android Auto is handy - but I always try to double check it's not sending me on a wild goose chase - and I stick to main routes instead of all the back roads which might be shorter, but I'd rather not drive through neighborhoods...

Satnav is fine if you know where you are going.

A real map can help you to decide where to go, perhaps somewhere quite different from the first thought.
