There isn't a target age. Heck there really are minors on this site even. You just don't see them most of the time.
The algorithm as well separates users by interests even. So it can depend on what you post as well as what you reply and like.
Heck I even suspect it separates on whether you play the games or not.
Other factors as well apply.

I don't think there is a targeted audience except originally maybe refugees from Experience Project.
There is no particular target audience, you get all sorts here. There are more older than younger though, I would agree with that. If by younger we are referring to early 20s.

@Jezelle There is a mix of good people, funny people and gross old perverts on here. Also some of those people who live for arguing about politics. So it's pretty representative of much of the internet, part genuine and part toxic. If you use the block feature and/or you don't get upset by idiots then you will be fine. There is a good core of members who aren't here to harass everyone.

The median age for the world is about 31.1 years. So more than half the world is 30 years old or older.
The median age for Europe is 43 years. So more than half of Europe is 40 years old or older.
On SW, the activity of people younger than 18 is hidden from the rest of us. So in order to compare experience here with the larger population, we would have to ask what is the median age world-wide among people at least 18 years old? Likewise for Europe. Those numbers would be much greater than 31.1 and 43.
The "typical person" randomly chosen from the general population is much older than you are. And so it is not surprising that the typical SW user is also much older than you are. No great mystery there, and no need to imagine "targeting."

You’re right. Nearly everyone here is old. I think this site just doesn’t appeal to younger users. I don’t blame them. It hardly appeals to me and I’m old.
