No i sleep in near total darkness. I think that is the biggest indicator if someone is afraid of the dark, which may really be fear of being unable to see potential danger. If someone sleeps with lights on they may say this or that but maybe in the back of their mind darkness makes them uneasy.

The darkness is my comfort. I grew up in the woods in the middle of nowhere.
I’m lucky in that regard. I only had to learn to avoid animals.

LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@EBSVC I used to love the woods at night. I still do, but now I worry I'm going to trip over a root or something, lol.

Nope. The only thing I EVER feared was the faces and forms that I saw in the dark behind my own closed eyelids...I couldn't imagine that ANY part of those came from my own mind! BUT I know, now, how to banish them instantly.
JackDaniels · 46-50, M
I embrace it.
HijabaDabbaDoo · F

@Bignakedguy I feel like is attempting to hide from the Bignakedguy, hence the hood over his head
Bignakedguy · 31-35, M
@robertsnj I wish that were the case because that figure has been haunting me since childhood (love that movie though)
ElwoodBlues · M
Nope. I think the darkness of the world seen by starlight is quite beautiful!
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M

Monalisasmith86 · 36-40, F
No never have been , I used to be , Afraid of the dark , when I was, younger , even though I was , alone in my room
Being enveloped in darkness is a balm for my weary soul.
faery · F
I feel much safer in the dark
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
I was never really afraid of the dark. I was kind of a weird kid that way. And as I got older, I realized people aren't really afraid of the dark at all. They're afraid of those of us who dwell in it.
LadyBronte · 61-69, F
Nope. The darker it is, the better I sleep....when I sleep.
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
Not the darkness. The risk of tripping over something and falling. So the bathroom light stays on at night.
TexChik · F
Only if it's in the eyes of those I love.
hunkalove · 70-79, M
I sleep with a light on.

BohoBabe · M
No, on account of I is the darkness.
MoveAlong · 70-79, M
A little afraid. Some damn thing has been living under my bed since I was five. It can be a bit unsettling sometimes at night.

@MoveAlong Interesting. I'm going to do a bit of research and get back to you.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@MoveAlong Hey, so if white sage isn't working, have you tried a salt circle around your bed?
MoveAlong · 70-79, M
@LordShadowfire Yep, one of the first things I tried. It doesn't work on my monster but It does keep the slugs at bay.
Convivial · 26-30, F
Nope... But what's in the darkness... Aye, there's the rub....
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@Convivial The trick is to become the scariest thing in the dark.
RosaMarie · 46-50, F
Only of hitting my shin on something.
meJess · F
Nope, only what it might be concealing
no, I'm primarily nocturnal / crepuscular by nature
Musicman · 61-69, M

H1raeth · 36-40, M
There is no such thing as darkness. Just the absence of light.
