Unfortunately I have the same problem with shoes/sneakers.
Casual/formal/hiking/running, then boots as well for winter.
I have resolved that when I buy a new pair, I also donate a pair. Then my collection doesn't look so bad 😊

A lawnmower. Sounds dumb but we moved around so much and never had any grass to cut. We rented and never had a house to call our own. My parents tried but it is what it is.
So I always wanted to cut my own grass when I finally bought a house. As much as I hate doing it sometimes in the heat, it’s my happy place. No thinking. Just doing.

I never wanted for material things as a child. My parents parented me with their wallets lol. I yearned for love, quality time, peace, understanding, belonging etc.
You can’t buy that so I built it.
That said, I still buy an obscene amount of shoes for someone who can’t even walk anymore 😆

I'm the same Lol. Funny how, I was the owner of 6 new pairs of shoes and boots, after the divorce finalized.
I wasn't allowed to have pets for a long time now they are my precious companions

I’ve never wanted “things”
I don’t even care about presents, to be honest with you
I’m very much a minimalist

I find it ironic that what used to be one of the cheapest shoes you could buy (converse), is now a pricey shoe...
they were never that comfortable nor popular when they were only $4-5; they're still no comfortable now, yet they're all the rage with kids these days... 🤔

@wildbill83 i bought a pair. Couldn't stand wearing them. Was uncomfortable
I was the oldest so I got everything new. No hand me downs for me. 😁

It used to be lots of cookies and soda. I never had those growing up.
Then I developed diabetes so no more cookies and soda.
Sigh.
At least I can eat breakfast ham.
But cholesterol.

I bought myself a pair of Adidas Samba trainers that I couldn't afford when I was a teenager.

This is silly but buns. Hamburger and hot dog buns were never in my house growing up because they were seen as luxuries. But as an adult, my house is never without them.

@PerfectionOfTheHeart @Bexsy
Yep .. Plain old Sunbeam or store brand white bread. Even got passed off as garlic bread at times - "doctored up" a bit, of course ;-)
But .. We never missed a meal and Dad worked 2-3 nights a week at a second job to ensure that.

I've been buying my own stuff since I was 13, when I started working because all I had was hand me down everything and looked like I could be homeless.
Plaid pants at 6? Wtf, come on parents, this is not acceptable
