Exactly
What an arrogant question from an employer.
Wow
I usually call them out on their arrogance

@TheLordOfHell I like that they ask you to have a wash before coming in 😂
Fluffybull · F
@Mooed78 Yep. I thought all this "where do you see yourself in five years time" rubbish was long gone, even before covid
JohnOinger · 41-45, M
@Mooed78 So what do you think of SpaceJesus & Would You Do Him
Torsten · 36-40, M
you flip the interview.
interview them on why you should work there haha
interview them on why you should work there haha
TheLordOfHell · 41-45
@Torsten Hahaha yes exactly! I think it's a good thing. Shows you're looking out for yourself as well. If the perks are good, it will show them that you're more likely to stay.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@TheLordOfHell honestly I am with you on that. Make em feel like they are the ones who have to work to get you on board instead of the other way around
HeidiA · 41-45, F
Yeah, that’ll convince them to take you on…
TheLordOfHell · 41-45
@HeidiA Well, you're selling yourself. Why settle for anything but the best?
HeidiA · 41-45, F
@TheLordOfHell “Let me show you around the office. This is the exit…”
TheLordOfHell · 41-45
@HeidiA Or, they might lay out the benefits and perks of working for their company. If they boot me that quickly, then they weren't worth my time to begin with.
CookieCrumbs · F
I’ve asked that question a number of times. How unprepared some of them
are would surprise you! 🤣
are would surprise you! 🤣
Convivial · 26-30, F
It's s pretty dumb question tbh
TheLordOfHell · 41-45
@Convivial Yah it really is, I think
Convivial · 26-30, F
@TheLordOfHell my immediate response would be "is it that bad"?

That's a good reserve question.

Conversely, it's funny how some KNOW they are not going to offer anything to make you want to stay, because they pitch the experience you will gain working for them as being desirable to OTHER employers
This is even if they are delusional about the experience you will be gaining specifically and how the misleading terms they are using in their adverts are used elsewhere in the job market (so they pitch the job as industry X when it's really industry Y*), and the "experience" they are offering to you is not even actually worth a damn under the terminology they are using, perhaps in an advert containing misspellings as a bonus garnish.
* Maybe they don't even realize this mistake themselves. That in itself is also a red flag.
