What's African food like?
I dunno... Fruit paste served in a bowl made of guano?
Evillynn · 41-45, F
@Sidewinder That was a pretty ignorant response.
AthrillatheHunt · 56-60, M
@Evillynn fufu

OutoftheGloom · 46-50, F
There are lots of African people who go to my church. They make a lot of meat stews which they serve with rice dishes and this white kind of bread like stuff which is sort of like bread and mashed potatoes mixed together. I think it's called fufu and is made with yams. It's very nice. The food seems to have lots of flavour without being overly spicy. I'd definitely try that restaurant. Xx

i want to try fufu so bad. it's definitely a trendy food but it just looks so good 😩

I love Moroccan food. I’ve also eaten animals unique to the African continent like zebra and giraffe (il carnivore restaurant Nairobi Kenya 1989)
buriedalive · 51-55, M
@AthrillatheHunt what did zebra and giraffe taste like?
AthrillatheHunt · 56-60, M
@buriedalive horse. I’m pretty convinced every 4 legged herd mammal
Tastes similar .
SleepingWithGhosts · 46-50, M
Somalian food is delicious!
DearAmbellina2113 · 46-50, F
Depends on the region but from what I've seen in travel docs, it usually looks good!
buriedalive · 51-55, M
@DearAmbellina2113 that sounds promising
DearAmbellina2113 · 46-50, F
@buriedalive I've seen various types of fish with tomato sauce, lots of rice, root veggies, etc. It all looked really tasty to me.
Wiseacre · F
It’s natural and healthy
buriedalive · 51-55, M
@Wiseacre i like the sound of that
GoFish ·
i'm not sure i watched some of their cooking before tho
Well, it can be very different depending on the region.
Adrift · 61-69, F
I would go with someone who knows the menu and see what they would get and how to eat it.
That would save you the embarrassment mistaking your dessert for a sauce and putting it on your main course like I did at an Indian restaurant.
buriedalive · 51-55, M
@Adrift Reminds me of when i horrified the people i was with at panera years ago by putting chive onion cream cheese on a blueberry bagel
Amazing! But CAN be spicy depending on some of the things you get. It's important to read what's in things and ask questions. Africa is enormous so the food varies. Savory, sour, spicy, sweet a mixture of all of those.
buriedalive · 51-55, M
@DancingStarGoddess Sounds promising and hopefully there's vegetarian options
@buriedalive Yes! In fact most of it! Depending on where you go but lots of vegetables
buriedalive · 51-55, M
@DancingStarGoddess thank goodness
Birdbox1986 · 31-35, F
It’s not always stews and fufu you know they eat a lot of like Portuguese food everyone thinks it’s just fufu and stews and they eat a lot of Spanish types of food with rice and very spicy
Zaphod42 · 51-55, M
I had Ethiopian once, but it was years ago so I can’t recall anything other than I liked it. Africa is a big place though, and different region and cultures have different styles of cooking.
African? What region?
african food is basically just a sack of rice or beans with the letters "UN" stamped on it
