I stayed, he was there for us as my kids grew up, a gentle lovely dog, I said goodbye and thanked him for being a great dog.
Still miss him all these years later.

I was there for my Mothers Pug and I will be there for my 4 Frenchies with some chocolate. They are there for me their whole lives so it is important that I am there for them their whole lives especially the end. 3 of them I watched being born.

They did it outside (my dog) but yes I stayed. It's difficult anyway, even if you don't stay.
I cried a little which is very rare for me.

The ex took my little dog, Cocoa, to the vet, and made the decision to have him put down without consulting me...so I wasn't even there. With my little dog, Sugar...my mother had an emergency that day. I was with HER when the vet called and I couldn't leave. I couldn't even BE there for her. It was awful.

I normally despise questions, but this is actually a good one. The bot must be having a good day.

Yes, I stayed and took my time even after he was gone. He would never die alone.

I let my cat die a natural death. At the time I felt I was doing the right thing. Now I'm not so sure..

I held them as they passed.

Stay. Hover a hand under your pet's nose - if possible - to ease their transition.
