If you ever went through the tough choice to put down a pet did you have the nerves to stay in the room throughout or did you have to leave the room?

The ex took my little dog, Cocoa, to the vet, and made the decision to have him put down without consulting me...so I wasn't even there. With my little dog, Sugar...my mother had an emergency that day. I was with HER when the vet called and I couldn't leave. I couldn't even BE there for her. It was awful.
