If you ever went through the tough choice to put down a pet were you able to stay in the room and hold it for the moment

Or did you have to leave the room or maybe watch outside the door?

I had to put my old puppy down in Feb. I held him through everything. I didn't want him to be alone. I held him almost 30 minutes after it happened. He was my old puppy and I was his person.

I held them as they breathed their last. Then I was allowed some alone time with them. It is heartbreaking, but I'm glad I was there.

I definitely stayed and gave them comfort.

Stay and comfort it, it's the least we can do after the years of love they give us.

Cradled his head and looked into his eyes until he crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. That's my duty to do so. He took a large piece of my heart with him when he left.

I held my dog as she took her last breath.

I petted him and later her, and kissed them until they closed their eyes.
Stayed. Cried. Carried her home and dug her grave.
