If you're somewhere that snows alot how do you walk on it correctly to avoid slipping and sliding?

Or is that just the ice?

Kind of depends on the snow itself. The thick wet stuff is easy to just stomp through. The dry powdery stuff is more of a shuffle step. Freezing rain, sleet, ice I just stay off the pavement and walk on the grass as much as possible.

Thats just ice. Snow is more like, your feet sink in it until its packed down. If people continuously walk the same path it becomes trampled down and easy to walk on.
Snow isn't slippery until it's compacted and turns to hard pack or ice
