Self driving cars aren't very good, I'll be the first to admit. BUT. They don't have to be very good to be better drivers than people😂🤣
I think I'll accept self-driving cars when they're somewhere between 5X and 10X safer drivers than average people.

So, a fully self driving car has a decision to make:
On a 2 lane highway, a child is walking along on the right, on the sidewalk. A huge truck suddenly swerves into your lane. What decision does the 'software' make? Take a head on collision with the truck...or go to the right and kill the child?
Is the software held responsible or the human being sitting in the automobile?
We have a moral decision here.

absolutely.. its safer and faster for everyone... the differences are so big its not even close and shouldnt be a question

@BunnyWarrior You are passing moral judgements to software.
Ok....so, when an accident occurs, who is liable.....the car company and their software failure or the licensed driver?
Do we need drivers license when 'riding' in this type of vehicle now?

@JSul3 thats legal formalities that people should get sorted out that know better about that stuff then i do. i am talking about the technical side here and its very clear that AI controlled cars drive safer then human controlled cars. which isnt why the AI is so great, but because humans are so terrible at it.
so the real discussion should be if we should just ban all humans from driving cars. if cars would only be just invented right now there is no way they would be allowed to become such a big part of life and society.

@BunnyWarrior Those "legal formalities" have to be decided before we move forward.
There are many roads that are not properly marked. We are a long way away from going 100% self driving cars.
Look at the number of Tesla crashes.

If they support me while I have my breakfast, while I put some product on my face and when I need to sleep during long drives.

Idk, they're like reckless drivers, you try to stay away from them on the road.
