So, a fully self driving car has a decision to make:
On a 2 lane highway, a child is walking along on the right, on the sidewalk. A huge truck suddenly swerves into your lane. What decision does the 'software' make? Take a head on collision with the truck...or go to the right and kill the child?

Is the software held responsible or the human being sitting in the automobile?

We have a moral decision here.

@JSul3 Who knows what even a human would decide though, those are not the types of situations where one has time to even think.

@CestManan Agree, but do you want software making a moral decision like this?
CestManan · 46-50, F
@JSul3 I guess in such situations, there is no easy answer.

People say they would do one thing but in reality, no one truly knows whether their morals or self-preservation would take over.

@CestManan And that decision should not be placed into the hands of any software.
We still have the question of liability in a case like this. Is it the auto manufacturer, or the car owner/passenger?
