HA I want my parents to be alive, does that make me weak?
To be real friend, trying to label everyone and define them from there is only gonna hurt you and everyone who knows you. You’re like the government. You’ve created sides and decided the terms FOR people. I like you, but your mind isn’t developing original thought, just oppressive, overused, recycled junk from being raised in a country led by generations of greedy old white men.

@RebelFox not if you lift them up and glaze the donut 🤷🏽♂️
That was a joke lol. I could do far more than just pump you. I'm real good at sex, maybe not as experienced as you but I'm very experienced for someone my age. A disadvantage to being a man is we have to work harder to get our numbers up than you fairer folk do. But add the experience I do have to my strong physicality, anatomic assets, and my general nastiness, and you'd be in for a good time rest assured.
But, you are free to believe as you want...that won't change the truth though 😉

Most times I find the dichotomy to be hypocritical nonesense. Mainly because we are products of our environments and my threshold of pain wont be the same for someone else. We all crash at some point.
But I can't help but to see strength in people riddled with challenges who push through them with a great sense of determination and strive.

@Miram
I agree with this but only to a point. I think that there is a point that most people would agree is pretty lame to crash at.
Like a person who regularly whines about something but never does anything about it or half asses it then stops and cries.
I think we would agree that such a person is weak right?

@Eternity
I think when we decide someone is strong, it is us mirroring what we find best in others. We are trying to attach meaning to suffering or to hope. So it is relatively easy to decide who is strong whether or not it is true. What is there to lose with little encouragement..
I don't know about others but determination has been both for me, self preservation which is innate , you do what you have to in order to survive + the choice to become better which is to me pretty much the will to power like described by Nietzsche .
It is very easy to decide who is strong because ultimately I am just attaching values that I aspire to to others.
Weak though is tricky. Lack of strength isn't the only reason why someone would do that and wallow in misery. I met lot of strong people who stopped wanting to get better in some fields of their lives because they do love their problems and don't want to lose what they already have. And them complaining over and over empowers them and keeps them going..whereas it would depress you to hear.
They still have determination, determined not to leave their abusive partners, determined to still follow laws that don't have their best interest, determine to be religious despite gender discrimination..etc they can still will to become better but not in those particular aspects.
Are they weak as whole? I don't think so. I think they are only weak in those aspects.
And so am I in some.
I think sometimes when we consider them week we enable their laziness ..other times we do so as protection, like we are obligated to help the weak. So often it can happen as result of excessive superiority tendencies.
Unfortunately that also applies to strong. Lot tend to dismiss helping others and feeling responsible for their suffering by calling them strong.
I also think being strong is not always the right choice.

There's just a lot of aspect to it, one that comes to mind : who when faced with problems will do their best to deal with it and solve it and will only seek help after all of their attempts fail. After all imo strength is also if you know when to ask for help.

Giving up.

I would call that confident vs unconfident. 🤔
I tend to guage whether a person is strong or not by their ability to resist their own toxic urges. Someone with self-control and self-discipline is strong imo.

A weak person is someone who is not willing to go after what they want, and a strong person, is someone who will not hesitate to go after what they want, modulo other people's boundaries.
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
I like that a lot but I don’t really define weakness or strength by that. That is more of a self esteem thing imo
Eternity · 26-30, M
@DeluxedEdition self esteem is a vital aspect of strength I would think. One wont seek strength if they dont think they are worthy of it right?
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@Eternity Self-awareness comes into the mix as well
Dan193 · 31-35, M
Mine boils down to self-discipline
TheFragile · 46-50, M
Our experiences and how we deal with them are what make us weak or strong.
Not giving up and the ability to keep going is a sign of strength
Eternity · 26-30, M
@Ozymandiaz i agree with this. Another point for determination.
I think that determination is a pretty good benchmark because it is fair to everyone no matter their strength level.
If one has to be determined then whatever they are going through must be difficult, at least to them. And if they persevere then they have chosen strength.

Weakness is defined by action and action is what defines strength.
