Do you think the US Supreme court should allow for federal vaccine mandates to be enforced?

Pretzel · 61-69, M Best Comment
I think they should rule on whether the government (the pres) has the constitutional authority to order the mandate - no whether the mandate is a good idea or not

Alisha233 · 31-35, F
Even if you agree with the mandate shouldn't it be up to individual employers or states?
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Alisha233 I really didn't want to get deep into the weeds, but would you want someone with smallpox working next to you? how about measles? You do realize that both of those illnesses can be communicable before they are clinically evident, and we have eliminated them through immunization? I was a physician in training and saw tens or hundreds of children and adults die from diptheria, measles, influenza, bacterial meningitis, I could go on and on. They are rarely seen now, except in pockets where people managed to avoid immunization.

Would you eliminate the other public health advances such as regulations for clean water, and air?

If your true goal is to eliminate government, then say that, but don't use this philosophical argument to make the point. We all know that there is a movement to eliminate OSHA, EPA, DHHS, and all other national protective groups which can be claimed, cost big business money in order to protect you and me.
Alisha233 · 31-35, F
@samueltyler2 of course not... the topic is should government have that kind of authority?
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Alisha233 Who else could? The current argument is that it should be the state, not the federal government? Why the state, why not the town? The ultimate would be to eliminate all government and resort to anarchy. I have to leave now, it is bed time for me on the east coast US.
Remmy · F
While I think everyone should get vaccinated, I can't get on board with the government mandating it.
@Remmy why don’t you say everyone should shoot up heroin too? 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Confined · 56-60, M
Under the constitution the Federal Govt can not. It is solely up to each individual state.
MougyWolf · 36-40, M
No, I think those who would support such a motion ought to be executed in public.
NotJamieM · 46-50, M
I've had a busy week and don't always pay attention to the news anyway... Is this already before the USSC?
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@swirlie You did make me squirm a bit sometimes.

@swirlie you sure haven't. there are a lot of beautiful Canadian women on SW recently. Many seem to like my posts, some well, ask for other kinds.
InHeaven · F
No, but they will. They are part of that system
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
In a word, yes!
InHeaven · F
This is what I meant. They are all one system. Pfizer seals their vaccine information for next 75 years but all of a suddent courts know these " facts". Load of bullshit these court justices are. Not even slighly surprised. This world is built on lies from day 1.
They are just doing their thing as always.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@InHeaven are you really not believing those statements? Somehow you need to study them and learn that there are reliable sources of information. Those points are not all false, I can attest for sure, about number 5, personally! Between the staff sick outs from illness and the volume of admissions, the average wait in the ER is now over 5 hours, and beds are in the hallways, it is as bad as April 2020, but, yes, Omicron is percentage wise, less deadly, but when you factor in the greater number of infections, the actual death totals will likely exceed those from alpha. But, that, sadly, isn't the issue SCOTUS is even examining!
Confined · 56-60, M
@samueltyler2 The CDC has fully admitted the vaccine does not in any way shape or form stop the transmission of covid. Omicron is not deadly. So far one or two deaths have been reported per million.
Kids are not on ventilators. That statement is 100% false.
NotJamieM · 46-50, M
@InHeaven from what I've seen, the justices did what they always do - raised questions and made points while the attorneys argued their cases. The liberal justices, as would be expected, raised points in favor of their ideology. The conservative majority, also as expected, did the same. Most of the articles I read seemed to conclude that the conservative majority might not be inclined to rule in favor. I see nothing to indicate any sort of "fix" is in place.
thepreposterouspanda · 36-40, M
Absolutely not.
And take care of the anti-vaxxers by force? No. Let the ones that reject prevention of infectious disease die. I mean what if the anti-vaxxers lived to pass on their genes? That is no way to have a civilization.
Alisha233 · 31-35, F
@canusernamebemyusername they shall live in the woods off grid free of taxes and the burdens of politics with the strongest natural immunity known to man. Mwahahaha.

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Alito is one of the conservative justices on the USSC. One of the longer serving ones too, I believe.
Did they?
There was a hearing set today 😳
Alisha233 · 31-35, F
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout I think they got a week or two to decide
@Alisha233 week or 2 to be rolled over 😏
