That’s really sweet of you to say, Davy. I see bits of him in how I handle things especially the stubborn parts haha.
You know, I still remember when he was deteriorating. He started losing his memory and didn’t recognize me anymore.
One time while I was feeding him, he was bragging about how excited he was to celebrate his daughter’s (me) birthday.

He passed away right after my birthday. It’s something that’s always stayed with me.

@Straylight Exhausted and miserable but managing. Long day with the whole family in Edmonton and ferrying her mom and aunt around is the most infuriating stuff cause they are constantly paralyzed with indecision. Her dad is still not doing great but is on the mend - slowly.

@CountScrofula my mom had copd too. that eventually would have killed her but it was the infections in her feet and legs because her blood vessels were clogged restricting blood flow that did her in. they even had to amputate her foot at one point

I will follow suit with an amusing work anecdote instead of piling on the misery..

In my teenage years my friends and I had part time gigs working as security guards during the night shift at our local schools..

On several occasions we each had our buds over to jam in the music room, play light night ball hockey in the gym, hang out in the av and watch late night movies... Etc. Suffice to say,, we sucked at our jobs, but we all believed safety in numbers...

Anyhoo. One night, my friend was guarding Laurier and invited us by for a swim... And as is always, we were several hours late... But still expecting service. My security friend had passed out, most likely while watching city tv late night blue movies, but we didn't care we wanted to seim even though it was 4am.... So we rang the buzzer.... And rang the buzzer. And rang and rang... We rang it until eventually off in the distance, we heard the sound of another alarm... That of the fire department and coppers.... Eventually we clued in they were headed for us.. Ee bolted to bushes... And watched from the wings as it seemed like 20 minutes after special forces ringing the bell.... Enough time for the security supervisor to show up... And our friend finally opened the door and proceeded to get the fifth degree and get canned.... He went home and slept.... We were pissed because we did not get our swim in... Such good buds.
