“Democrat cities seem filthy.” First, what qualifies as a “Democrat city”? Just any city with a Democratic mayor? A big city in a blue state? Big cities that voted for Harris in the most recent presidential election? If it’s the last one, then I think it will be hard to find “Republican cities.”
My next question would be, are “Republican cities” noticeably cleaner? What I expect you will find is that, within the US, there’s really no particular correlation between how dirty a city seems and the political party that has mostly governed it. That’s because high levels of inequality are what make a city seem dirty, and in the contemporary US high levels of inequality are a national epidemic, probably most affected by federal policies. Republicans, however, like to characterize Democratic cities as dirty because most big, dirty cities are Democratic, which is because most big cities are Democratic regardless of how clean or dirty they are.
As for “Socialist cities,” in American political jargon when Americans self-identify as “Socialists” they typically advocate for government policies found in the Nordic states: Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and Finland. Have you been to any big cities in that region? Do you consider them dirty?
