@ElwoodBlues Seems to me some of that lot don't really know what they want, mixing United States of America, secessionist Confederate and Nazi flags, in a single demonstration.

Hard to know from across the ocean whether they are best taken seriously, satirised or simply ignored, within their own land.

Were ever taught their own nation's history, and 21C world history?

I forget its name but I do know there was an equivalent organisation in late-1930s America to Germany's "National Socialist" party, basically admiring and copying the ideology, and using recruitment attractions like childrens' Summer holiday camps.

What is the man in the boat trying to do? Criticise the President by accusing him of being a Nazi? Or is he a Nazi sympathiser who thinks Donald Trump and by extension, America, should adopt Nazi ideology?

The ones in the park, with the woman in the foreground giving a Hitler salute, appear to have chosen a rather sensitive spot for their antics, judging by the information sign behind her, but I cannot say if by thoughtlessness or wilfully.

None of those characters look old enough for their fathers to have fought in World War Two, though some of the older ones may be the offspring of Vietnam War veterans; and I suppose what they think they know about either war is likely from Hollywood versions.

It's not surprising. While trump has lost some support in his party the cult and MAGA support is still there.

Hail Trump! Long live the republic!

You forget those people were voted in! So, it was obviously because they liked their message better!

@sunsporter1649 hopefully soon, I’ll get killed for sure
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@jehova Not if your policies are in accordance with the wishes of the majority

@sunsporter1649 jfk mlk id be next
That's great news. Pro Trump candidates are probably endorsed by the administration and that has led to multiple landslides all over the world away from those candidates.
@NerdyPotato Dont count on that... Remember that many American voters choose their political Parties the same way many people choose their football teams. Glued on for life..😷

I wonder about zombie Trump at what point is a reanimated corpse “alive” or not?

A big reason Trump won in 2024 is that the media was able to reinvent him, especially on the podcasts. Pundits like Joe Rogan and Theo Von were able to get young men, mostly apolitical, to vote for Trump. These are voters who aren't registered Republicans, they're not part of MAGA. When we see Trump's support dropping, it's dropping among these people. Which is good, it means MAGA as a cult hasn't gotten any bigger since 2016.
@BohoBabe Effectively what you said is true. But it was a well funded, well connected and well orchestrated campaign by the Heritage Foundation that set him up as a figurehead they could manipulate. And its worked a treat. Even the insanity we see now is setting him up for removal at a critical point to make Vance the President and things will unfold from there. At this point, unpopularity doesnt matter to them. They arent planning on having to win that way..😷

Been saying for some time that democrats are being a bit too optimistic. Nothing will get through a Republican Senate the way they are doing this.

The house is not where the power is.

Maybe,,,,,,,,,, if we send TRUMP to Melbourne !!!!!!

That would kill him

I think the expression is "they have nailed their colours to the mast"... And they will go down with the ship

It's just one more sign that the "Red Hats" are living on "Animal Farm." Of course, it did cost Republicans $13 M+ (USD) to get them to bleat what he wanted. Perhaps there is one smart jackass among them who knows what is really going on and at some point will read to them the truth.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@whowasthatmaskedman The thing is they do know the world has changed and they don't like the change, so they are hoping against hope that some fat slob with an enlarged self-interest who is promising them to return to things in their romantised past as long as they keep him in the centre of their lives will be their saviour.

An unnecessary and ill-planned (or no-planned) war? No problem. Daily chaos? That's okay. A taxpayer funded gilded ballroom that was supposed to by taxpayer-free? That's fine. Out of reach petrol prices that continue to escalate while being told they are dropping like a rocket? Who cares. Citizens being executed in the street? Just tell them what to think about it.

He is offering them a way to bypass the change that they know about, that they acknowledge, and that they don't want despite it being inevitable. A successful con man doesn't hide reality from his/her shills. He offers them a path to escape it. And no voter is exempt if they fear the change. The dirty little secret (for them) is change always comes anyway. History is chockfull of examples. And it's not pretty.
@MarkPaul I agree with you. I just believe that American exceptionalism still applies in America. But its almost vanished everywhere else...It will come as a nasty surprise to Americans that their kids going hungry means no more to others than African kids going huingry..😷
