I wouldn’t even have guessed that they even met, but okay if he wants to pay his respects. Why is the funeral so soon after his death 🤔.

The dean of the college of Cardinals is in charge of making sure there's a funeral plan, and it remains current. That would be Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re.
The Pope himself, wrote and approved the latest version of the plan.

Let us not forget that Hitler claimed to have modeled his Nazi regime on the authoritarian structure of the Catholic Church , and the SS, in particular, on the Jesuit arm of the Catholic Church. And the Pope at the time was pretty much aligned with the Fascism of Hitler and Mussolini. That Pope Francis was a major reformist attempting to return the church to the teachings of Christ, of serving the poor and needy, and being more accepting of everyone probably is "fake news" to the man who allegedly keeps a copy of Mein Kampf on his bedside table. Or, he heard their was a vacancy with a larger global footprint than just acquiring Greenland and Canada.
