My feelings about Trump supporters have gotten to a certain point…

where I rarely engage anymore. If they don’t see by now that Trump’s dishonest, that he’s racist and misogynistic, that he’s a criminal intent on destroying our democracy, it’s because they’re choosing not to, so screw ‘em.

I tend now to just block. I’m very grateful I haven’t had to avoid any family members or close friends over that "cult". Other people I know have had a difficult time with loved ones in that regard.

Of course, the realisation has hit all the "honest" Trump supporters that apart from being a personally appalling human at ever level, he is absolutely looking to seat himself as President again by any means, legal or otherwise. The probability is that another raft of criminal charges will arise involving election fraud in several states where he is under investigation and there are already plea deals being taken from others involved. The bottom line is that anyone still supporting Trump at this stage is no longer a fool, or misguided. They are openly looking to bring down the Republic of the United states and place a dictator in the White House.. And that goes for everyone who intends to cast a vote for him at this point.. No exceptions. America as you know it is in the balance..😷

this is true
In the weeks and months following the insurrection, as I watched them try to rationalize what happened in a thousand different ways from Nancy Pelosi secretly orchestrated the whole thing to nothing happened except for a peaceful protest, I realized this whole situation was hopeless.
@robingoodfellow And this is one of the few times he told the absolute truth. 🤨
@bijouxbroussard and ironically it's the only thing he ever said that they don't believe

I tend to agree. The behaviour of most Trump followers I encounter is wilful ignorance, wilful rationalisation of anything that fits their narrative, wilful dismissal of facts, a mindless 'yeah, but what about this, that or the other for (insert any left wing issue or person)' that switches into gear almost as if they are unaware they are dodging responsibility yet again for Trump's words, actions and attitudes.
It's not dialogue.
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
They know exactly what he is — that's why they worship him.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@DunningKruger I agree. He gives them permission to be their worst selves, and cloak it in the guise of "freedom".
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@DunningKruger Says enough about them too, doesnt it?😷
Rutterman · 46-50, M
I'm basically in the same place as you are with these people. Trying to engage with them on political issues is a frustrating waste of time, so I seldom do it anymore. I've blocked a few of the more hateful ones here, and some of them have blocked me, but I mostly just ignore them. That works well enough for me. I'm also grateful that no family members or acquaintances who live in my area are Trump supporters.

Ya missed one...you have been downvoted🤷‍♂️ I don't have VIP so I'm all about the scroll. Just have no time for these endless scrums that go nowhere
@bookerdana It’s been addressed. Check out the replies.

I still rarely block cause I want to know what the enemy's up to
0 trumpista "friends" left on fb
some in my personal life it would be difficult to avoid
life has become tragically complicated but I'm grateful for like-minded friends here like you Bijoux 🤗

I've family members that are cult members of that there, causes tension with my dad who is deeply perplexed, as he is with most of his Christian acquaintances. I mention that because him being effected feels more real to me than i myself being effected, i think i'm just numb to it all.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
Been cutting back on comment on those types of posts heavily myself. I just ignore them unless they are on my comment.

@jshm2 I actually agree with you.
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
I learned not to bother with engaging them. My biological family have disowned me because I have chosen to share the rest of my life with a woman whose skin color is different from mine.

The trumper mentality is morally bankrupt and depraved.
JSul3 · 70-79
@Crazywaterspring Sad to hear about your family.
You might ask them if they enjoy Halle Berry, Mariah Carey, or any number of biracial entertainers or artists that bring joy to the world.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
I have one IRL friend who voted for him both times. I've been dreading any discourse with him on the subject, and we both kind of leave it alone.

@LordShadowfire It's not you who has it, it's Bijou, I got confused
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@bijouxbroussard Oh, lol.
AndysLoft · 56-60, M
Na,it is better not to block people you don't like. It means you won't be able to watch them making arseholes out of themselves.
@AndysLoft In the beginning it was entertaining. Now it’s just sadly frustrating, and I don’t need that. 🥺

@bijouxbroussard YES! Sadly, my social circle has been reduced over the past few years, but I am fine with it.

Figuratively speaking, he's a sinking ship.

I'm right there with you, but I'm trying to ignore radicals not only of the MAGA flavor but all radicals both right and left. I will say that the MAGA crowd are the worst of the lot, but I'm pretty much done with radical idiots on both sides.
LegendofPeza · 61-69, M
Same.

It's the main reason I stopped posting here. They are either just idiots or real nasty bastards. Either way they're not worth the effort.
Renaci · 36-40
And they are in the most insidious places. You never know when someone you thought was good turns out to be actually evil instead.
@Renaci That’s what I’ve been discovering. It’s like finding a Klan robe in the closet of someone you trusted.
