I think because some of things people criticise Trump for were also applicable to Obama. EG. He deported a record number of people during his presidency though nobody made a big deal out of it like they do with Trump. So it gets brought up.

Biggest con artist ever in the history of ever.. going to be so sweet watching him run back to Kenya and claim citizenship 😁👍.

@BlueMetalChick it's really strange how people can be shallow enough to honestly believe that disliking Trump means liking Obama. As if political preference was a simple toggle switch that had to be at one position or the other.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@ViciDraco It'd be one thing if he assumed that one time, but I've had this conversation with him over and over. Same with MarmeeMarch. He constantly shitposts at me about being a "Barry lover" or about "your man BO" even though I hated Obama for all eight years of his presidency.
ViciDraco · 41-45, M
@BlueMetalChick I can only imagine that they view Trump as saving the country from Obama. But I think the fact that they so blindly follow their leader tends to be a sign that they aren't very good at taking in new information.
updown2020 · 61-69, M
Well it all part the person in the white house part of is deflection plane because he is not handle this covid very well Mr Obama did not fire people left right and center and did not use twitter like a PA system .
I still hear people bring up Clinton, Bush, Reagan... People just like to complain. Mainly though, they do it to justify their support for Trump. If you need to justify your support for a leader by comparing him to others he's probably not a good leader
TexChik · F
He's an unindicted felon. 😉
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@TexChik Words do not change meaning based on people who represent it. Liberalism is liberalism and always will be no matter who calls themselves a liberal or not. The same goes for conservatism, libertarianism, socialism, and any other descriptors.

SW-User
@TexChik Everything? So he's basically the human equivalent of God to you, then? Okay, I get that 🤷🏼♀️.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@TexChik No that's not CNN's take on it. In fact, CNN denies all the shit I just said. You're actually telling me that America is not fighting a war in Yemen? So we DIDN'T commit 4,000 US troops to Saudi Arabia to defend their oil fields from the Houthis, and we DIDN'T sell them one hundred and ten billion dollars in weapons, and we're NOT blockading the country, and we're NOT leading a bombing campaign on the Gulf of Aden? So everyone is lying about it? Trump is lying, and Pence is lying, and Pompeo and Abrams and Bolton and Mattis and Jones and Haspel and the entire US State Department and the Department of Defense and the US Air Force and the US-Saudi Coalition are all lying? They all made it up and it's an elaborate hoax and they falsified all the photographs and evidence and they made up all those casualty reports? And all the soldiers and drone operators and pilots are a bunch of liars who were bribed to make it up?
TheSirfurryanimalWales · 61-69, M
Obama was quite popular over here.Unlike the Presidents either side of him.

I'm sure we'll continue to hear all about him if the Donald is re-elected. Gotta blame someone for his failures
PowerofStories · 61-69, M
Yes, I agree. And the ones who try to claim that Millard Fillmore left them with a broken system are insufferable.
@PowerofStories nah McKinley fucked up the country, everyone knows it.

Because they listen to Trump, and believing his blaming of Obama for his own failures
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@SW-User Trump is a criminal for bombing my country and waging a genocide while supplying jihadists with illegal weapons. Obama is also a criminal for bombing my country and waging a genocide while supplying jihadists with illegal weapons. Bush is also a criminal for bombing my country and waging a genocide while supplying jihadists with illegal weapons.

@BlueMetalChick Sometimes I wonder where you go in your head. One minute you make sense and the next you are off on some crazy train. Obama and Trump have nothing in common. It is a heinous and ridiculously misguided idea that they might.
I understand most of your reasoning behind your dislike of Obama..BUT I dont think he made decisions lightly or that he did so with intent to harm. He is a leader, he makes decisions. Not everyone is going to like them. This is not wonderland.

BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@JaggedLittlePill Well let's see. They both support Israel's illegal occupation, they both support Saudi Arabia, they both have invaded foreign nations illegally and without congressional approval, they've both sold illegal weapons to Jihadists, they both supported the bombing campaign in Syria and the arming and funding of Muslim terrorist groups to combat Bashar al Assad, they both outsourced over one hundred thousand American jobs, they both oppose universal healthcare, they both oppose negotiation for better drug prices with pharmaceutical companies, they both oppose reimportation of drugs from Canada, they both support privatized healthcare, they both support the blockading of Yemen and the genocide happening there, they both support big money bundling, they both support Citizens United, they both support the AAA, they both support pledge laws to outlaw boycotting the Israeli government...

No different than people talking shit about bush during Obama's time, or Clinton during Bush's and so on
smiler2012 · 61-69
rose415 suppose it is a clever way to deflect away from the present incompetent incumbent of the white house is doing
JaggedLittlePill · 46-50, F
This is a part of a group of overused talking points they cannot let go. If they do, they have nothing.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
Well, I can't say for sure in every scenario but I know that it's a pretty common deflection. When I trash Trump, I very often get the response of "Well Obama did it too so that makes it ok." Which is wrong because I trashed Obama when he did a lot of shit as well.

@MagnifiqueGirl I wish that were possible but we always have to take into consideration the state of the country as the president inherited it.

Trump is the anti-Obama. "Make America Great Again" really means "Take America Back From that Negro."
