Do you use SW and FB in the same way?

The anonymity here tends to lend itself to more freedom of expression. For better or worse. 😳

Same here. I rarely post on FB at all actually, and I would NEVER post half of what I post here. (my issues, therapy, fears...) Most people I know at FB are from high school, and they were acquaintances. Most were stuck up snobs too :( I post here just SO much more and can feel myself.

I’m more myself here, I’m with you definitely couldn’t say the things on FB that I say/do on here.

I quit using FB, so SW gets all my wit and charm🙄

I use them in complete different ways

FB : Use my full name Very conservative in what I post. Use to keep in touch from people in my past. including high school, college, ex works and ex neighbors i join groups of common interests like biking group. It is very superficial and generic. My PM's on facebook are mostly "how is your life going emails"

SW: I am anonymous and don't really have an image to protect. I can ask or respond to more sensative topics. Some of my PM's on here are like my FB PM's and some are much deeper or topics I wouldn't talk about on FB

LinkedIn : you did not put LinkedIn on here but I guess it sorta fits. Just for business. Network, make business connections and nothing else. I am friends with some of my LinkedIn connections but it was almost always that we shared an employer in the past. I send happy bday emails on LinkedIn but almost never anything else.

I have over 2000k LinkedIn connections about 450 FB and well under 100 on SW.

No. I use SW a lot. With FB, if I get a notification I might check it out. It’s been years since I posted on FB.

The anonymity is why most people would prefer SW.

Ditto. This place is crazy. But in many ways not nearly as shallow as FB. If my friends and particularly my relatives were local to me and not spread all over the world, I’d consider getting rid of FB.

Sort of. I wander away from both often but I enjoy this much more than FB. I enjoy interacting with the people here more.

I sure do. I'm a funny sarcastic ass no matter if I am here or there😒. Lately the only time I have been on FB is when I am talking to family and one of my closest friends.

I slowed sharing random on FB stuff in the way I do here/EP around 2013/2014. I slowed to rarely even visiting FB a few years ago.

I only have facebook for some groups anymore and still rarely look at it. My feed turned into stuff that had nothing to do with me. I never liked how fake it felt anyway. I prefer this place, warts n all. 😂

FB is the me the world sees. SW is somewhere I generally don't have to care what people think,

The only think I really go to Facebook for is to monitor two groups I started ten years ago that are very active.

Facebook lost its tact a long time ago.

At least on SW I feel no internal desire to censor myself.

Yes, I absolutely agree. I am definitely more open on SW then any other social media site.

I don't do much with FB, but that's for my G-rated life. SW is for the other stuff.
