Boris Johnson got turned away from his polling station as he had no ID

We always knew he couldm't follow his own rules (look at 2020/2021) but since [b]he[/b] brought in the rule of needing ID to vote, you would think he would have one to vote with.

The requirement for voter ID was introduced by Conservatives despite no evidence of significant electoral fraud. It is inconvenient to voters and not very democratic, not least because we have no national ID card . . largely because the Tories voted against it in the 2010s 🤦‍♀️

That said, it is encouraging that a public official applied the rule correctly and consistently to Boris 👍

not sure how it is in the UK, but I'm pretty sure most 1st world countries require ID/proof of citizenship to receive pension checks...

If you pay taxes, you have an ID...

And I'm pretty sure the IRS/HMRC don't care how unreasonable someone thinks not having an ID is if they ever get audited when they haul you off to jail for tax evasion/pension fraud...🤔

@wildbill83 Not physical ID for paying taxes. Remember here its all done for us out of our wages, we don't actually do anything with taxes here. Unless we are business owners.

To vote you can only use one of a few different forms of ID, and as has been said we don't do ID cards here, and those who have them for work aren't accepted. It basically comes down to having Passport or Drivers licence.

Today they actually either approved or are thinking about approving veteran army IDs.
