And a lot of those people are about to lose their cars and get credit cards cancelled.. This is going to get ugly real quick.. Sadly, they cant just print more money to cover the interest on their existing loans, like the FED is doing..😷

@Diotrephes And that is how many people live these days. Which means 20% of their income goes to the banks in the end

@whowasthatmaskedman Money is useless unless it circulates.

@Diotrephes Money is simply a convenient way to exchange value. It saves you being paid in, or paying for things in sheep and eggs..It is only ever worth anything if we all agree it is..
And there is a Thesis in how Wall street decided money was a commodity it could manufacture and has been defrauding the world ever since..Destroying the $US in the process..😷

I remember when the inflation rate was 9% and the democrats thought it was fine.

@ron122 That doesn't help right now when a republican is president

It is a lot worse than we realise, we have lending bodies bending over backwards even with people with bad credit
Once I see this I go to google reviews on the company - lending money to people with bad credit is called irresponsible lending - they get annoyed for telling the truth

whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M

As a side hustle, I sell craft items on Etsy and eBay and July was the slowest July I've had in 13 years of business.
I take it as people have had to cut back on non essential items.

@independentone It's because they moved auctions to the front page. More people realized the prices are low insane and are staying there instead of looking through the app.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@independentone It could be that but I'd take a look at what @Magicianzini said as well.

We're turning more and more into a two class system of the haves and the have nots. Our economy has been based on debt since Nixon took us off the gold standard of economics because we didn't have enough gold to back all the money we had in circulation, but our GNP/GDP was good for it. Printing more money ultimately causes more inflation, which decreases the value of money, which will lead to higher wages, eventually.
People need to live within their budgets. It seems like everyone wants to have all the gear and accessories they see on YouTube, insta, and TikTok and they get overextended. Nobody wants to be on the side of the have nots. Its easy to get caught up in that cycle when you have credit cards that will charge you interest only as you max out the limit on the card . Then get another and max it out . Soon your whole paycheck is going to interest only , entertainment, car note, insurance, rent, etc with nothing left for food. When you're already used to a lifestyles afforfed by credit, it makes sense to finance your sustenance too with the option of declaring bankruptcy when the ends out run the means

I'm so relieved that I got even the small loan for my cellphone finally paid off. Yet I had no choice to do it.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@DeWayfarer Yeah I get that sometimes you got no choice, I can't imagine what others are going through just to pay rent
