GUNS aren't the problem
GUNS need somebody to pull the trigger
MENTALLY DISTURBED people are the problem

@pdockal There are very few guns in private hands in Japan, New Zealand, and Denmark (to name a few countries) - are those dictatorships?
The rate of private gun ownership in Yemen is almost as high as in the U.S., so according to your theory, people there should enjoy similar freedom and prosperity.

@pdockal Nah, you just can't keep up with the argument. Maybe you should work on walking around a tree without getting lost before you try to join the adults.
Your view is extremely naive. First of all, many indigenous hunt, it's part of their culture, is that something you want to erase? Many others hunt to sustain their communities. Many kids grew up with guns in the past, on farms and were fine. Farming equipment likely killed more of them than guns because many were taught to respect them and not mess around.

@Angelwarfare We had bows and arrows before guns were brought here.
So hunting wasn't a problem for us.
We can hunt without guns, guns are not needed for hunting.
The colonialists brought the guns here.

@Angelwarfare There's more laws and restrictions on who can own a car and drive on the road than guns.
False comparison comparing guns with cars.
To operate a car and get a license, you need to read the DMV manual, pass tests to get a permit and if you pass the driving test you can have your license.
Even Eye tests are required before you can operate a vehicle independently.
Reckless and dangerous driving can get your license revoked/ suspended and you can serve jail time.

When i was going to school, most of the boys had their guns hanging on a rack on the back window of their trucks. Nobody was shooting anybody!

@Graylight no, I didn't attend PS132 in Queens. I've been very fortunate to live in rural areas...along the rivers or in the mountains. Maybe that's a clue... it matters where a soul is raised and their surroundings.

Every US citizen's personal perceived freedoms are more important than anything else. Never before in modern history has a country struggled so hard with self-centeredness. We're the repugnant, know-it-all, smarmy and arrogant teens of the world.

You know what gets to me is how every parent that has ever lost a child to a school shooting is forced to relive it every ti.e it happens again. It is beyond cruel.

Around the same time abortion access became more important than kids lives? 🤔
LeopoldBloom · M
@SumKindaMunster When you repeat antisemitic tropes like "Soros worked with the Nazis" without qualifying it the way you did when I called you out, what am I supposed to think? And if Soros is a "self-serving piece of shit," what about the Mercers, Peter Theil, the surviving Koch brother, and Harlan Crow? I guess they're OK because they pay for the results you approve of. Imagine if Elena Kagan had accepted half-million dollar vacations from Soros the way Thomas did from Crow, and had failed to report them. You'd be screaming not just for her ouster, but for every decision she wrote to be redone, and for her to be thrown in prison. But hey, Thomas is entitled to a little R&R courtesy of his "friend," what's the big deal?
Reade made her initial accusations a year earlier, then suddenly escalated them when Biden was the presumptive nominee. It's suspicious. And when it came out that she had repeatedly falsified her credentials on the stand, it's not surprising that no conservative DA wanted to take her case. Carroll on the other hand told several friends right after the incident, and it doesn't help that Trump has been accused of sexual assault by two dozen other women, and is on tape boasting about it. So the two cases aren't comparable except in your "both sides" world.

@LeopoldBloom
I dunno dude, that's a question I ask myself sometimes.
I don't even know half these people but if they purposefully use their money and power to directly influence American politics for their own selfish purposes then yes they too are "pieces of shit". Ok?
No, and again I can't help but chastise you for acting like the guy in "Memento". It's like every time I speak to you, its the first time we've ever conversed. While my politics and sympathies lie on the right hand side of the political spectrum, I am not a slavering right winger who just believes everything a right wing pundit or politician says. And I have disavowed many a right wing conspiracy theory if I think its bullshit, and dismissed many a right wing ideal if I believe it is harmful or doesn't help the country.
If you can be bothered to remember anything about me for future conversations, I would appreciate if it was that.
Each case deserves to be viewed on its own merits, not whether or not someone has had other accusations in their past.
As far as Reade goes, her lying on the stand about her credentials is certainly notable when it comes to her credibility, however you and other leftists were dismissive of her claims long before any of that came out. I guess its good someone finally found something unrelated to her accusation that tarnished her credibility so you have something to hang your hat on.

Yeah, I'm done. The United States needs a new Constitution written, and one that reflects the society we have become. But let me be very clear, if we take away the guns from the people, we must take away the guns from our police, but leave the firearms to the military.
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@calicuz Taking away guns from the police will never happen. Not even in Sweden.

Then there needs to be another solution other than taking away guns from the citizens.

Guns are means to kill people easily. It takes less force to pull a trigger than to use a knife for example.

And that from someone approving of over 800,000 abortions yearly. Amusing
Guitarman123 · 31-35, M
@sunsporter1649 so you're saying blame the person, not the gun? Don't you think that if guns were illegal then the killer wouldn't be able to murder innocent kids?
RebelliousSpirit · F
@sunsporter1649 The purpose of firearms are to hurt and kill right? So they just fullfill their fucked up purpose and make it easier for people to kill.

About the same time as government and police proved that they don't care for their citizens.
AsianEyezChulaRp · 31-35, F
@Guitarman123 I wonder if you’re from UK I have a best friend up there and there is not much gun violence. I have to respect that country for not tolerating guns. I think that is a United States didn’t sell to civilians they would be less gun violence for sure. Guns should be only for war in like police officers. I would definitely agree to that, but that’s not gonna ever happen in life, kids get into everything, whether you put a safety or not they will find a way to open the safe with a gun is and bring it to school. There’s so many things I don’t like about United States.
Guitarman123 · 31-35, M
@AsianEyezChulaRp yes crime will always be a thing unfortunately. People accuse "mentally unstable" people of gun crime whilst ignoring that it's the ease in buying those guns without a background check that's been set up by the government that the citizens are supposedly in fear of
IWasCallingYaLarry · 26-30, M
@AsianEyezChulaRp Totally untrue. Criminals are gonna get their hands on whatever they get their hands on to harm people. They do not care for the laws. That's like saying there would be less car accidents if we just ban cars, it makes no sense. Besides, 3D printers exist and also guns are a part of our constitution. Second amendment. England still has other bad crimes because of acid throwing attacks and stabbings. Criminals are going to find something to use no matter what you ban. But people who know absolutely nothing about guns or personal responsibility think only cops should have guns. Okay, so if your house is ever on fire, only the fire department should be allowed to have fire extinguishers. Do you see how that makes no sense? Or that only professional chefs should be allowed to cook? I can keep going on with stupid similar arguments that prove this doesn't work.
AsianEyezChulaRp · 31-35, F
@IWasCallingYaLarry I get it and no chefs are not the only ones who cook I get what you saying , and I heard about the acid throwing in UK my friend told me that petty guys that get rejected by females. They will throw acid at them if they reject him, which is really ignorant, and I hope they get the worst karma ever for doing that to females.
