"Lock her up!"
"Mexicans will pay for the wall!"
"Beginning on January 20th, 2017, safety will be restored."
"Repeal every single Obama executive order."
"My first day, it gets signed, okay? My first day. There's no more gun-free zones."
"Designate China as a currency manipulator."
But your little picture is cute.
"The next Hitler" is a bit of an overreaction I'd say.
@WindeuxNKoolayd: yeah building a wall and murdering 5 million Jews aren't really that comparable
@WindeuxNKoolayd: German National Socialism has no more connection with U.S. Liberalism than the Republic of China has with U.S. Republicans. Please stay in school. 🙄

Everything he is getting was brought upon by himself.
curiosi · 61-69, F
Obama tried desperately to destroy America and his followers loved the idea, they are now pissed that he wants to undo the damage Obama did.

Wow. Your post certainly generated some vitriol.
UndeadPrivateer · 31-35, M
There's honestly a pretty fair point to be made for the inverse. There were a lot of very subdued reactions to highly troubling rhetoric, especially for anyone with even a passing knowledge of human political history.

No.. people are actually overreacting to the people who voted him in..

The behaviour of Trump was to be expected and anticipated, this man hasn't changed since becoming POTUS
crunchysavage · 26-30, F
I don't talk about that man.
The President has a tendency to overreact and exaggerate. The public can be forgiven for doing the same.
We're not here to protect the little thin skinned snowflake. Some people fear him, some hate him, but as our President, he's supposed to work for us and not the other way around.

It's not an easy job, and the way he got there means he's got more baggage than a traditional democratic leader.

It's bad enough we have to listen to tweets about how unfair people treat him, and get misdirected from issues like bills, foreign policies and filling vacancies in his administration, but feeling sorry for the narcissist in chief should only be Melania's job.

still better than Clinton
Maybe, maybe not, but the election is over, and it's time to govern and not pick the bodies of fallen corpses
katielass · F
@Niburu: Absolutely. Anybody is better than her. We could have had Bernie but the hillary camp decided to undermine him and try to shove her down our throats. Love how that backfired.

That Twitter post was a huge generalization but there was a lot of truth to it.

He's orange 😤

@A7xqueen: poor orangey

Yes and no. Yes, in that he's an utter narcissist who deserves to be demonized. But no, in that almost every politician above a certain level is an utter narcissist (most are just less overt about it), and so it's really not fair to demonize Trump so much more than we demonize the rest.

What's he done now? I need dirt.
katielass · F
@simlytracie: I need dirt? You're dumber than most.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@katielass: I know that. But I'm kinder than most
Dan509 · 26-30, M
@katielass: I think she was kidding katie, that's really uncalled for and speaks volumes how thin skinned you are when someone even jokingly insinuates they want "dirt" on a sitting president, which is one of the oldest American traditions around (see political cartoons of the 1800 election for farther evidence) Furthermore i would argue that "most" of the populist, American or not, do not adequately inform themselves on the contemporary political aspects of the executive and their dealings, so lashing out in such a distinctly immature manner does nothing but breaks down the dialogue of that informative transfer of topical events.

Yes and no. You can demonize him for representing ideas you dislike.

Get over it- his ideas won.

You can demonize him for being a boorish narcissist who hasn't done nearly enough to convince America or the world that he isn't a (witting or unwitting) Russian stooge.

If so, you are right on the money.
katielass · F
He doesn't have to prove he isn't a "Russian stooge". Those who planted the idea in your head need to prove he is. Pretty simple but actually what is hilarious is that you people didn't give a flying fuck about Russia until the idea that he "could" have Russian ties was planted in your heads. This is what hillary was referring to when she said democrat constituents were easily manipulated and too stupid to know it.
WoodyAq · M
@katielass: he doesn't have to "prove" it. He just has to stop acting like one. And look, I know about the cold war, and I don't believe that it stopped in 1991. So, yeah, Russia was a problem in American history, and could still be one.

If the charges were baseless, and until Trump opened his mouth, I thought they were, then there are some pretty obvious and painless things he could do to defuse the issue.

He hasn't done those things. Why not? a) they are true; b) he doesn't understand what he is doing.

Pick your poison.

And, the idea that the Russians are a perpetual Democratic bogeyman is, to anybody who knows anything about the last 100 years in America, really, really 😆
Snickerdooodle · 31-35, F
Very much so. It's ridiculously unfair
To him? To the American people?

He's the leader of the free world and he won the election. He should be able to handle the heat and not whine about it.

Of course it's not fair. But he's likely told a lot of people he's fired, life is not fair. And he's the guy who's opposing regulations like those that protect people from being fired unfairly.

So, um, I think your right, @snickerdoodle, but I'm not sure you answered a question that matters a lot.
Snickerdooodle · 31-35, F
I'm just a small fish in a sea of sharks. Why would it matter. Agree or don't, no skin off my nose
@Snickerdo0dle: he works for fish like us. Everyone's vote counts.
No, it was not an overreaction. After all, this is the man who demonized his predecessor by demanding his birth certificate twice, making all kinds of unfounded accusations (and clearly still doing so), libeled his opponents at every turn and ran the most divisive, ugliest campaign in modern times. He deserves every bit of crap that's blowing back on him now. And if it were really a fair and just system he'd have to resign.
