2 month old baby detained by ICE is having failing health

A mother tried getting help for her baby with no doctor on site plus the 2 month old baby has spent his life behind bars, she was met with a shrug and got told they couldn't do anything for her. It's actually known that ice got rid of the contract with a company to provide health, a detention facility chose not to. Not to mention the highly cruel detention of children in the first place.

According to the child’s mother, Nicolás has bronchitis and was unresponsive at some point in the past several hours.

Despite the medical condition, Castro stated that Nicolás was released from a hospital around midnight on Tuesday.

“He has been sick, and they don’t have the medical capacity to treat him,” Castro said in the video. “His life is in danger.”

Castro also said that at one point, no doctor was available during the early morning hours when the baby needed medical attention.

The Frio County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to KSAT that the baby was transported to a hospital by facility staff at 10 p.m. Monday. The baby’s current condition is unknown.

You say Ice denied the baby care but the woman in the video says the baby was rushed to the hospital by ambulance.

@ron122 No doctor being in sight and met with a shrug was being refused care when it constituted an emergency. If the baby had been taken care of, why had the baby been sick for such a long time to begin with before that.

Furthermore, this is the same detention facility in which others have met similar fates and died. The facility has been under attack for immigrants dying before. This is literally being talked about right now.

This isn't rocket science, what are you having a hard time understanding?

@ron122 Every facility that has any type of prisoners for long periods of time must have doctors present 24/7. Given that this facility detain even very young children for very long times, this must be even more so.

They have no idea any medical requirements for children what so ever.

This even applies to schools BTW. There's always a registered nurse present. Asthma is common in children.

Even Guantanamo Bay detention camp has doctors present. One of the worst known detention camps.

I would tag Missy Ann in this one, but she's in timeout for letting her mask fall off the other day.

@justbob Someone pointed this out in another thread so I'll repeat as it's a good point but if someone comes here illegally that's a civil matter.

If that someone has been working with no criminal record, the act of jailing a 2 month old baby and not getting them help right away as the infant was suffering for awhile before this happened with no or lack of medical care, is an overly punitive punishment.

The punishment doesn't fit the crime. That's like someone getting a traffic ticket and then being put in prison for life or assaulting them to "teach them a lesson." This is all a bit harsh.

Furthermore, you can see others but we can't see you. There's lots of maga including Jan 6thers, border patrol, ice agents who have now been charged with child trafficking, domestic abuse etc some of those people who Trump pardoned ended back in prison, if not mostly all of them.

I'm not saying that's you but point being, many maga have violent past criminal records but they be in the forums making the same exact arguments as you.

So.. like it's a bit ironic to be that way and you can judge others but we can't see you.

That's not fair, for all we know, you could have gotten it for domestic drunken assault many years ago and be a violent drunk. So your argument for overly punitive punishments don't fit

And this is what pro-life is all about.

@Roundandroundwego While democrats have their own criticism, democrats aren't the ones who built the detention camps in the first place so this is inaccurate. Trump is president, not Biden, get over yourself.
@SatanBurger it's not like Dems funded DHS since 911, not like Dems ever presided over falling crime and rising prisoner populations in the USA! No way Dems need to admit it, anyway. Dems don't stop none of it and ROFL, they aren't less fascist than Republicans.
But, that's the best you can do! That's the best Americans can do!
Republicans didn't build any camps or prisons alone. And that's the best we're getting!!! You're getting re elected. Nobody can stop the uniparty.

@legalboxers They are below, I dunno what it is with them but so far they've managed to be pro child abuse. I dunno what it is with the maga cult but child abuse seems very like ingrained with them. It's low key crazy at this point
@SatanBurger Whatever their deal leader says they will do...
