I wonder what it is with Republicans and Mccarthyism.

Back when McCarthy was ruling he made up a claim that thousands of communists wanted to sacrifice people's babies to Satan and stuff like that and gullible people believed him which was nuts. I mean honestly I always wonder what makes people so low IQ to believe conspiracies but I guess people really did believe that there's people who want to harm their pathetic lives even though most don't live in a worthwhile fashion enough for people to care anyways.

That's neither here nor there, Republicans been a little screwy since that time. Like it knocked a few bolts and nuts a bit loose in their head or something.

Yet they can't take even a miniscule of the same treatment given back to them. Since I've been old enough to vote, they've called democrats as communists, authoritarians, and sometimes even Nazis. And apparently that was just fine and dandy. But if someone dares label a republican a fascist or a Nazi, well that's advocating for violence now.

Could you imagine if they started getting blacklisted and harassed by law enforcement even remotely near the level of McCarthyism?

I think they were broken before that though, even. I think it started as a result of FDR's policies and popularity. McCarthy was just where they were able to land a solid scapegoat.

People will inherently gravitate to others who shed light on what they want to hear, no matter what the subject matter is. That is why a person who thinks they're sick will go to several doctors for a so-called "second opinion" if the first doctor says there's nothing wrong with them, until they finally find a doctor who will agree with them that they are in fact sick.

It doesn't mean they ARE sick, it only means the alleged sick person found someone who will agree with him that he IS sick.

The MAGA-right think the same way as the alleged sick person described above. Trump simply harnessed what every MAGA's deep-rooted emotional beef was, which Trump then followed-up with words that led MAGA to believe that Trump agrees with them ..and so now he fights for the MAGA-mindset in America, though Trump himself doesn't actually believe in MAGA nor their cause because Trump was a registered Democrat before he entered politics!

McCarthyism was no different at the time. McCarty harnessed the primary beef that concerned the majority of Americans at the time, at which point he chose to become their official voice in Washington and Americans supported McCarty no differently than extreme right-wing conservatives support Donald Trump.

Keep in mind however, that Republicans are not MAGA. Republicans in America are center-right conservatives, whereas MAGA-conservatives in America are extreme right-wing fascists. Republicans by their center-right nature are not fascists. For someone to suggest that Republicans are fascists is nothing more than a contradiction of terms.

I find it interesting, sad and laughable that Republicans fall for the same satanic hoopla that they always fall for, only to have pointed out once innocent people are unduly hurt by their accusations that they were once again fooled by their own imaginations. I don't know why we have to go through this satan thing every 30 years or so, but it's now a GOP oldie but goodie, i guess.

Republicans have always suffered from the delusion that their way is the right way and the only right way. And any other way is therefore wrong. And if you cant see that, you need to be told and led, whether you like it or not, for your own good. And the narrower that path gets, the more they are justified in using force to get you to conform..😷
@whowasthatmaskedman exactly! If the population wasn't suicidal and genocidal they'd vote outside the uniparty!

@Roundandroundwego Pretty much all Americans have drunk the koolaid handed out by the media and the money.. No matter which side they vote for. America isnt an exception. Its just the next step, and its over..😷
@whowasthatmaskedman the West needs to believe, the rest doesn't.

You're crazy if you think Republican leaders actually believe the BS they spew. They've known for decades that fear-based politics that target an "other" that people don't fully understand is an effective way to remain in power.

@LordShadowfire Yeah I always try to assume the best in people but I can't anymore. At some point it's just cruelty
