500 people arrested for holding signs against a genocide.

Palestine Solidarity Actions has been designated as a terrorist organisation by our 'Labour' government. This means that anyone involved in it or supporting it (by holding a sign) is subject to prosecution under the Terrorism Act. PSA's crime was damaging military equipment being sold to Israel, which Israel is using to commit genocide. Yvette Cooper says that the public doesn't know all the details but will not give them.

Who are the terrorists here?

I think it's terrorism to starve people unnecessarily while fighting hamas, I've seen the pictures and I've heard from kids saying they haven't ate in three days or so. I'd like to mention that they were putting some type of drugs into the flour too.

I understand war is ugly but it's unnecessary starvation and doing unnecessary things. At this point, Hamas has honestly killed less people than israel so if we're doing like a side by side comprison here.

@UBotMate

If the rule of law shields a terrorist state while punishing those who oppose it, that’s not law it’s complicity.

Decades of polite activism haven’t stopped the killing, have it? We already followed the rules. Where did that lead us? Without real disruption, nothing changes. The laws are the opioid of the people. The giant is asleep and it needs be awakened.

@Miram Could not have put they better myself 👍

@UBotMate It is not wrong to share your views. But I had to say mine too. There is a chinese saying that translates to something close to The weak are afraid of the strong, and the strong are afraid of those who have nothing to lose. And that sadly applies to more than the case of Palestine. It applies to all other activism related to humanitarian causes. Those in power only bend when they realize that the people are willing to die for their beliefs, not just go to jail and get criminalized. That's the scariest thing to them.

Cooper is abusing her authority. The insidious method she used to proscribe PA (lumping them in with two other violent neo-Nazi groups so MPs had no choice but to proscribe all three groups together in one collective vote) shows she knew she was on very shaky legal ground. The decision needs to be overturned in court next month. She's a disgrace. I do like the idea of the new dissenting group now calling themselves Yvette Cooper. They stated they called themselves that in the hope they'd be proscribed too, meaning Yvette Cooper will have to proscribe Yvette Cooper as a terrorist organisation.

@ArtieKat Though many MPs are keeping w expressing regret, including Peter Hain. As a young man, he was a leader against Apartheid South Africa. As on older man who has changed politically, he still cant escape the comparison. Though at this point, it is harsh on Apartheid South Africa.

Not that MPs votes are always perfect, for lots of obvious reasons.

@ArtieKat In a statement after the vote, Palestine Action said the home secretary had "bundled our domestic civil disobedience protest group in with two violent, neo-Nazi militias".

"Many MPs told us that as a consequence they felt they did not have the option to vote against the measure," it said.

The group added it was "confident that this unlawful order will be overturned".

If you can't see how Cooper forced MPs to vote in favour, then you're exactly the kind of cuck the government relies on to lie down and let them walk all over you. You continue supporting genocide and the starvation of children. A sorry hill for you to die on.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@ArtieKat If this was considered a genocide then how is this not?

As much as people complain about America, I’ve been feeling grateful when I look at the erosion of freedoms in the UK. The lunacy and cognitive dissonance and now straight up repression it takes to keep defending this genocide is staggering.

The audacity of someone like Starmer to say he will recognize Palestine but continue to offer Netanyahu unconditional support…
@Burnley123 The guardian, ok...

@NativePortlander1970 I've been part of a political movement relentlessly attacked from the right by the guardian..so I have issues.

What part of the report do you think no is factually inaccurate and why? This article has clear sourcing and uses the IDF:s own figures...
@Burnley123 I didn't. Out with my comments.

Breaking into a RAF base and sabotaging aircraft vital to the defence of the realm is, no matter your motive, terrorism.

What is the mental fortitude, the strength of purpose of these people if they want to act like terrorists but be treated like naughty school children?

Are they, in effect, not prepared to face the consequences of their actions?

The Voyagers damaged are air to air refuellers not compatible with the Israeli in flight refueling system. They were not being sold to the IDF.

It is a shame that you should make such a mistake.

Unless, of course you are one of Farage's useful fools, trying to undermine government actions against terrorism, to allow N(ational) F(ront) another opportunity to call Labour out.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@SchoolBelle It's not defense of the realm it's arms given to foreign powers

I would have thought that an intelligent person like you, @Burnley123 could tell the difference between free speech and criminal damage?
