500 people arrested for holding signs against a genocide.

Palestine Solidarity Actions has been designated as a terrorist organisation by our 'Labour' government. This means that anyone involved in it or supporting it (by holding a sign) is subject to prosecution under the Terrorism Act. PSA's crime was damaging military equipment being sold to Israel, which Israel is using to commit genocide. Yvette Cooper says that the public doesn't know all the details but will not give them.

Who are the terrorists here?

Cooper is abusing her authority. The insidious method she used to proscribe PA (lumping them in with two other violent neo-Nazi groups so MPs had no choice but to proscribe all three groups together in one collective vote) shows she knew she was on very shaky legal ground. The decision needs to be overturned in court next month. She's a disgrace. I do like the idea of the new dissenting group now calling themselves Yvette Cooper. They stated they called themselves that in the hope they'd be proscribed too, meaning Yvette Cooper will have to proscribe Yvette Cooper as a terrorist organisation.

@Richard65 Did it pass you by that a majority of MPs voted to proscribe PA?
Richard65 · M
@ArtieKat did you read what I wrote? Do you know HOW they were proscribed?
ArtieKat · M
@Richard65 Yes, I did.
Richard65 · M
@ArtieKat how was the vote presented to MPs?
ArtieKat · M
@Richard65 I really can't be bothered looking up the details. If you want to give me a link to Hansard then I'll read that

@Richard65 You've said that already. I asked for a link to the parliamentary proceedings.

@Richard65 Perhaps this is what you didn't want to share?

It makes perfectly clear that MPs could have objected to the inclusion of Palestine Action - but only 26 MPs out of the entire House of Commons voted against.

@ArtieKat Though many MPs are keeping w expressing regret, including Peter Hain. As a young man, he was a leader against Apartheid South Africa. As on older man who has changed politically, he still cant escape the comparison. Though at this point, it is harsh on Apartheid South Africa.

Not that MPs votes are always perfect, for lots of obvious reasons.

@ArtieKat In a statement after the vote, Palestine Action said the home secretary had "bundled our domestic civil disobedience protest group in with two violent, neo-Nazi militias".

"Many MPs told us that as a consequence they felt they did not have the option to vote against the measure," it said.

The group added it was "confident that this unlawful order will be overturned".

If you can't see how Cooper forced MPs to vote in favour, then you're exactly the kind of cuck the government relies on to lie down and let them walk all over you. You continue supporting genocide and the starvation of children. A sorry hill for you to die on.

@ArtieKat If this was considered a genocide then how is this not?
