Gates foundation worked with USAID all around the world for decades. Gates himself just contributed another 200 billion to make up for that loss in federal aide.

A Partnership Built on Health and Development

USAID and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation have been intertwined for decades, primarily focusing on global health issues, including infectious diseases, vaccines, family planning, and agriculture. This partnership has resulted in projects like the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria, as well as the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation (GAVI). However, this alliance, which also includes the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), has raised some eyebrows due to its connections with controversial players and practices.

GAVI and the HPV Vaccine Controversy One of the most contentious areas of Gates’ and USAID’s collaboration is their involvement in the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation. Through GAVI, Bill Gates has advocated for vaccination programs in developing countries, including a controversial HPV vaccination initiative aimed at protecting millions of girls from cervical cancer. The plan to vaccinate 86 million girls with vaccines like Gardasil, produced by Merck, has faced scrutiny due to reports of severe side effects, including paralysis and even death

In India, the administration of the HPV vaccine in 2009 led to adverse reactions and allegations of misconduct. These incidents were reportedly ignored by Gates and USAID, even as new reports surfaced linking the vaccine to debilitating illnesses and fatalities. Despite mounting evidence of harm, Gates and USAID continued their support for GAVI, raising questions about their commitment to public safety versus their ties to big pharmaceutical companies like Merck.

Pandemic Funds and Reproductive Health Schemes

In addition to their health initiatives, Gates and USAID’s collaboration extends into controversial areas such as family planning and reproductive health. Leaked documents published by Revolver News in 2022 exposed a scheme by GAVI using pandemic funds for reproductive health programs in Africa. Critics argue that this initiative raises ethical concerns, especially considering the use of global health funding intended for urgent pandemic relief to promote birth control and reproductive rights. Such programs are part of broader efforts by Gates and USAID to push global agendas that go beyond immediate public health concerns, further solidifying their influence in developing nations under the guise of humanitarian aid.

@Reason10 you are the marxist!

My family was gypsy's that they sent to prison camp throughout eastern Europe!
Reason10 · 70-79, M
@DeWayfarer You obviously have never read anything by Marx.

Your LIES about PRESIDENT TRUMP are practically straight out of the Communist Manifesto.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@Reason10 Marx wasn't a communist. Communism has never existed! It was Lenin that started so called communism (actually called Leninism)!

It wasn't even based on Marxism! Lenin based his theories on Engels theory's. And again it deviated from Engels theories! So again communism never existed!

Marx never completed his theories!

Trump is a socialist! He was in debt (bankruptcy) SIX times! Society (socialism) paid Trump's debt SIX TIMES!

These are TRUTHS!

Deny that Trump wasn't able to pay SIX TIMES!

Trump filed for bankruptcy SIX TIMES because he wasn't willing to pay his own debts.

So WE (SOCIETY) paid for Trump's debts. Pure and simple SOCIALISM!

TANSTAAFL!

Surely the adjectives "liberal" and "progressive", are compliments?

There are three very good reasons for rich countries to help poor ones. Such aid is very costly, and the UK as well as USA has had to cut back on overseas aid, but cutting back is not the same as ending it entirely.

The fist is common humamity. Why should I leave you to die from a curable illness because I am rich enough to afford an injection and therefore am worth more than you as a person.?

The second is a matter of politics and diplomacy. Abandoning these countries is likely to drive them further into the arms of countries like Russia, Iran and China, none of whom is likely to care about their residents. It is also likely to foment and worsen unrest on the continent.

The third is one of health. Infectuious diseases don't have passports not recognise borders, and a land riddled by disease is a health risk to others.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@Heartlander Well, the lack of accountability is certainly wrong.
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@ArishMell

Did we help Cambodia? Vietnam? Iraq? Afghanistan?

We left a lot of bodies and $$ behind, but did we help?
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@Heartlander No, didn't help at all.

Certainly not directly but I don't know what indirect contribution the USA made via the UN or other non-governmental organisations to famine-relief in Afghanistan.
Since when? Since at least 1966 when USAID joined the effort to eradicate smallpox.

to wipe out diseases in Africa?
Did you really think "African" diseases stayed in Africa?

Didn't you know that we're all a 24-36 hour trip from the most remote villages in Africa? Didn't you know that we've fought multiple Ebola outbreaks in Africa? Didn't you realize that fighting hemorrhagic fevers like Ebola (80% to 90% fatality rate) in Africa is far better for Americans than fighting them here?

Didn't you know that SARS and MERS (10% to 35% fatality rate) spread even more easily than Ebola? Would you really rather wait for diseases like those to reach US shores before we begin to fight them??

Have you never realized that this system has been protecting you from pandemics FOR YOUR ENTIRE LIFE???

There are eight candidates for the next likely pandemic. Don't you think we should be studying them as we help contain them OFFSHORE???

Successive American administrations have deemed providing basic healthcare to the world's youngest and most rapidly growing region is in the national interest. It is an inexpensive way of averting natural disaster that may lead to the displacement of millions of people and increase migration flows to the rich world. It also helps America to exert soft power and influence and access emerging economic markets. While America under Trump does not understand the importance of this, China certainly does.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@nudistsueaz That remains to be seen. However, for the moment more than 90% of the overseas aid budget has been pulled and millions of the world's poorest and most vulnerable are now at risk of dying from wholly preventable diseases.
nudistsueaz · 61-69, F
@SunshineGirl It won't resume until the tax payers know where it is going and what is being used for once it is there. Plain and simple, accountability. You do bring up a good point. What did these countries do before the tax payers started helping?
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@SunshineGirl We really don't know whether there are benefits because there is no accountability as would reasonably be expected.

Beyond the lack of accountability, there is no continuity or no predictable continuity.

Why do Democrats and their enablers ignore the need for accountability and continuity when both are vital in fulfilling the intent.

Whether US Aid for starving children in XYZ is going to feed the children or into the pockets of politicians or just randomly scattered into the winds no one really knows. Why so resistant to knowing? .

Given the covid outbreak as a result of ttumps policies his first time around. Managing disease globally has a payoff. Are you hoping for covid 2.0?
ididntknow · 51-55, M
USAID, wasn’t for aid, it was a slush fund, for control of the world, bribes, wars, CIA funding, backhanders, regime change operations, eg, Ukraine, attempted in Georgia, Belarus, just to mention a few, it had nothing to do with helping the world, it was a secret fund,
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
As long as its only more working class or poor Americans that suffer and die, then the administration doesnt see a problem.. No matter what the words, thats what the money says. And you should always listen to the money..😷
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
The first word salad of the day. 🙄
gol979 · 41-45, M
It hasnt stopped. Just look at the recent "contracts". Its just been absorbed in the state department.

And lets be honest, 1% of that tax/theft money goes to normal peop!e the rest is used to maintain empire (or whatever you want to call it). And if money/bribes dont work then the money suppliers will regime change through state violence (ie war) or assassination.
@gol979 I've heard that 47% of statistics are completely made up. Is your "1%" among those??
fanuc2013 · 51-55, F
It will also hurt a number of liberal bank accounts!
Patriot96 · 56-60, C
More EXPERTS, squandering our tax money
Patriot96 · 56-60, C
@Kwek00 please tell us what pandemic was stopped by USAID
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@Patriot96 So I asked a question about policy, and you are unable to answer it? Yet, you have very strong feelings about this toppic. Funny how that works.
Patriot96 · 56-60, C
@Kwek00 what policy will stop a pandemic. Its all talk and no action
nudistsueaz · 61-69, F
Who cares???
It was a front for laundering money and had zero oversite .
gol979 · 41-45, M
@sunsporter1649 hilarious you actually still think the red side of government is fighting the deep state when they are rolling out the "great reset" at pace
